Okay. Pretend you don't know anything about the gym leaders of Unova. You don't know what they're like, you don't know what Pokémon they have, you don't know where they come from. You get the picture.

One of the things Pokémon is known for is making characters that are gym leaders and the elite four easily identifiable with their respective types. So, what I'm asking you, is to identify what you would immediately assume the type of all the gym leader and the Elite Four members are, respectively, just by looking at their character design.

    Ooh I love this idea.

Uhhh let's see, Striaton is self-explanatory. But yeaaah, moving on. I actually feel like Lenora is a rock type leader - something about the way she's designed and her general attitude makes me think that she's strong like rocks. I dunno it's hard to explain really. Brycen really makes me think of a dark gym leader, I dunno why, but the fact that we KNOW NOTHING WHATSOEVER ABOUT HIM makes me believe that he's hiding things aka ~dark~. Burgh, Skyla and Elesa all make sense. Iris seems kinda like a fire gym leader, but that might be based on thinking back to Hoenn where Flannery, a younger leader, controlled the fire gym. Drayden I'd say seems kinda like flying, really, rather than dragon. The way he looks just reminds me of a pilot for some reason. Who else? Oh yeah, Clay, well... yeah, ground definitely suits him.

So really, in my way of thinking, we lack a dragon gym leader and have two flying ones, yay!

I always thought Iris/Drayden would be Normal/Dark type Gym Leaders. I think it's because of the "Black and White" theme of Unova.

I mean, who wouldn't want them to have a hacked Braviary/Mandibuzz?

Just by looking at Alder, he looks like a Fire type specialist because of his orange, spiky hair.

The Trio - Well, they were what I'd think they'd be haha.
    Lenora - Rock or Psychic.
Burgh - He just looks like a bug trainer lol.
Elesa - Her design screams electric. Can't see her as anything else.
Clay - Another great design. He looks powerful and sturdy and his color scheme is so.. Basically everything about him says Ground.
Skyla - Definitely flying. Her, Clay, Elesa, and Brycen had beautiful designs to represent their typing.
Brycen - See above haha. Maybe fighting if his color scheme were to change.
    Drayden - Dark/Ghost, tbh.
    Iris - Psychic.

    Well the trio is obvious
I expected Lenora to be Rock cause of her being an archaeologist and all and her strong presence.
Burgh- bug, the butterfly belt is a give away.
Elesa- Electric due to yellow hairm and headphones. Or maybe even Pshchic if not electric.
Clay- as either rock or ground, maybe steel due to his texan look.
    Skyla- flying...
Brycen- Ice, ghost or dark due to his style of dressing
Iris- Dark due to her reminding me of Zoroark
Drayden- Dragon, steel or normal as he seems strong like steel, and the color scheme made me think of normal and dragon
All of the elite four- ghost, dark, psychic, and fighting...those types really resonated with their appearences.
Alder- Fire due to his hair...didn't expect him to be more of a bug trainer (most of his team is bug...)

i admit the trio was a bit obvious, I just expected them to follow their type a litt more, rather than the Lillipup, but I'm not complaining.

Lenora, actually I kind of expected her to be a Normal type. She seems more of a historian rather than an archaeologist, to me, so Normal fits better than Rock.

Burch, I actually expected to be a Psychic type. I think it's just because he's a bit...out there. That, or a Grass type leader.

    Elesa was pretty obvious.

Clay was predictable, but I had my bets on Rock type. Ground fits better, though.

Skyla was predictable. The little propeller, the outfit, she fits the part.

Brycen, his color combo gave it away.

Drayden I expected to be Dragon. He just has this powerful look to him, which many Dragon types do.

Iris I was thrown off a bit. I expected her to be a Dark type trainer.

The Elite Four fit perfectly and were predictable.
Alder, yes, I thought would be fire. Instead he has 1/2 Bug types and 1/2 totally out of place unpredictable Pokemon, except Bouffalant.

The only one that threw me off was Lenora. It may just be me, but I think it would of been a bit more sense if the fossil based gym was in Clays domain. However, it doesn't matter too much.

I kind of thought the first 3 gym leaders would of been one of those silly rotation battles, but thats the only thing close to this thread.

Well, the trio were plain obvious, lenora i thought would be fighting or rock, burgh looks like a normal bug catcher lmao, elesa is spot on and so is clay, skyla is great, brycen looks like a water to me, and drayden and iris look like dark type trainers

Interestingly enough, if you look at the discussion on Lenora's talk page, they talk about how they should just make her type Grass even though it wasn't officially announced because it's so obvious and will be inevitable, haha. That aside...

Chili, Cilan, and Cress are quite obvious. Not even the colors either - Cilan's hair looks like a tuft of grass, Chili's looks like fire, and Cress' looks like a waterfall.

Lenora definitely seems like a Ground-type leader to me. Just her outfit is very...earthy and grounded imo, with the apron that's obviously related to research that makes her dusty based on the way it's designed, and the very down-to-earth clothing compared to people like Elesa, for example.

Bug is the only possible one for Burgh imo. I mean look he has a butterfly on his belt, and he looks really frail like a bug.

Elesa is also pretty one-track, the yellow combined with the headphones gives off the image of electricity. She definitely screams electric to me.

Clay's difficult considering I already pinned Lenora as Ground. But imo he could also pretty easily be Normal-type, if only thinking of Bouffalant. I could see that as his main Pokemon.

Skyla's type isn't immediately obvious from her design whatsoever. On the one hand she looks like she could be water but Cress is more obviously water. She could also be Ice but she's wearing so little clothing. I would still go with Ice because she's kind of wearing boots if you look, and I've seen girls dressed in that little in Ice before.

Mmm, just proclaiming Skyla as Ice makes Brycen quite...difficult. Based on his pose though I'm gonna go with Fighting.

Drayden I don't even really remember cause I have White, so! Time to look at him. He definitely doesn't scream 'Dragon', in fact I could see him as a Poison-type leader. That purple is very telling towards Poison and he looks very harsh so it matches!

Aaaand Iris! She also has no makings of a Dragon leader, which I think is kind of the point of her design. She would fit Normal even better than Clay, in that tan and pink are colors of a lot of Normal types. So idc if I already said Normal I'm saying it again.

    The end!

The Trio - there color just tells you what they will be
Lenora - shes tough i figured fighting
Burgh - hes a werdio and looks like a bug person
Elesa - electric shes way to dressed up like it
Clay - Ground definatley couldent be anything else
    Skyla - Definitely flying. .
    Brycen - definitley ice
Drayden - i had to think dragon just to sirious to be anything else
    Iris - Psychic

    Fun!

I'd have Cress/Cilan/Chilli down as Grass/Water/Fire respectively mainly because of their appearance and hair colour ofc.

With Lenora I wouldn't class her as normal as she suits more of a Rock type persona especially considering she owns a museum of fossils.

Burgh I'd have down for grass type the way his appearence is and the way he dresses, talks etc. and his love for art for me links upto grass types.

Elesa I would instantly assume she is electric with what the headphones, yellow hair etc.

Clay well the name is kind of a give away but he also has the western attitude to be a ground type leader (or fighting type) so either Ground or Fighting

For me Skyla looks like she would specialise in water types but her name says otherwise.

Byrcen I would assume is Ice type with the icy looking colours and what not.

Iris I would class as normal type as she seems just like a normal fun Gym Leader, completely opposite to what I'd view a Dragon type Gym Leader as.

Drayden for me has a Dark type feel to him and if I saw him I'd think that would be his speciality.
