    Whoa, what a mouthful, xD

Anyways, If you can remember, then what was the most annoying thing your parents said about anime?

Anyways, I got the idea from another forum.

EVERYTHING!!! Whenever I watch anime my parents just keep complaining about it. "Why are you watching this?", "OMG no one actually sounds like that", "No one wears clothes like that!", "OMG look at the size of their head/eyes" (although I may have to agree a bit about that last comment...) -____-

"Why are you watching this crap?" is the usual thing my mother asks me, which is about annoying as it gets. I have very little interaction with my mother when it comes to our taste in what is on TV or DVDs - the only things we both watch are Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You? and Mock the Week. I ask her the same question when it comes to some of the things she watches, though, so its not too bad.

Haha! Same here- I mock them about what they are watching, so it counts itself out!

Usually my parents talk about the poor animation, but I reply it's culture- Asian art! There is also a reoccurring joke in my house about everyone in anime looking like Ash cos Pokemon is the first anime I watched! :D

Oh, my parents would say these:

"Have you actually done your homework?"
"Do you learn anything from these?"

AND my dad would give lectures. Erk, so lame, like it doesn't sink into my head. Duh...

    "Turn that noise off!"

XD my mom has a thing about sounds, as she prefers everything to be nice and quiet(unless of course she's watching it too, which is never the case with anime). And I always get peeved because I don't like her calling it "noise."

Though I only started watching anime in my last year at home. Now I live on my own, and I've seen much more anime here than I ever have at home.

"Aren't you too old for cartoons?" Thats what my mum would say. She dosen't know the difference between anime and cartoons. It's all cartoons to her. So now I don't watch any anime =(

My mom says that some of the anime I watch does not make any since (although I have to agree somewhat :P )

She does like some anime though, like Cyborg 009 and Ruroni Kenshin.

She also liked Death Note... Even though her first reaction to seeing Ryuuk was "What the heck is that thing?!" XD

What annoyed me most is when my mum stares at the anime for about 5 minutes, then turns to me and asks "Is this Tom and Jerry?"

Ok, i had to laugh at that.

Well, my mom praises me for watching anime and being different from my brothers. However, my brothers ask why do i watch stuff like that and say Im wierd. Bump them, I say.

"Where is Naruto? Is that the one with the black hair?" When I watched Naruto,

"Who's the Pokemon there?" When I watch Pokemon.

It's really annoying when my parents says "Who this [Insert anime title here]" and I have to explain it. =.=

Well I don't really get questions like this: Since my Dad is a gamer himself so he knows alot about graphics already. But the only thing I've ever had to be asked about anime is from my Mum (But I guess your used to Pixar films still when you work in a nursery) She just said: "What type of style of drawing is this?"
    I immediatley answered: "Anime."
NEXT SHE'S GONNA ASK ME ABOUT MANGA. But my Mum's not annoying.

    "Stop watching that Digimon crap!"

This was years ago, but it still ticks me off when I think about it. To mistake Pokemon for Digimon is unforgivable in my book.

My parents don't really complain about it. And they will watch the english dubs with me. As for Subs, they ask why I want to watch something I spend more time reading than watching XD

My statement applies to more than just parents. It even goes out to different subject such as games and manga/books.

"What is that? Pokemon?" or "Is that Dragonball Z?"

GOD! It get soooooo annoying O_O Regardless if this is a Pokemon forum, not every anime/manga/game looks like Pokemon OR DBZ!!! In the last month while playing Disgaea at school, I think people have asked me the Pokemon one at least 10 times...It's probably the most annoying thing I can think of that's anime related.

In my dad's side of the family, the Y chromosome seems to have a natural attraction to everything from GLORIOUS NIPPON. All of my male cousins with internet access seem to love anime.
My genes are retarded however so I probably have a Y chromosome wedged in there somewhere. D:
My dad thinks anime is great. He doesn't really watch it, but he calls them 'cartoons done right'. He also agrees with me nowadays that American cartoons suck the big one. My mom disagrees however and thinks that I should stop 'watching that Japanese cartoon garbage' and start watching those horrible Hispanic soap operas which, by the way, are really horrible. (Either that or American cartoons, but that's only for her gain; so she can ask me what certain English words and phrases mean. It's annoying and embarrassing so I have to chase her out with a broomstick every time she comes into my room Dx)

"What the heck is this? Is this more of that Pokeyman stuff?"

And yes, they pronounce it "Pokeyman."

But in all honesty, they haven't seen me watch it in a while. Though it helps that I'm at school 800 miles from them XD

    Quotes from a silly father.

"Are you watching more kids [censored]?"

    "Stop watching Pokémon"

    "Always watching Pokémon"

The latter two are often said even when I'm watching something violent - FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST = POKéMON. What.
