I stopped watching pokemon after the Johto series so I'm not exactly up to date on everything but I remember them handling the johto team's wrong in my opinion by that I mean Ash and Brock. These are the teams that I would have liked to see them have at the end of the Johto series

    Ash
    Pikachu
    Meganium
    Typhlosion
    Feraligator
    Skarmorey
    Umbreon

    Brock
    Steelix
    Golem
    Crobat
    Ninetales
    Forretress
    Sudowoodo

Would you have changed anything about anybodies teams at any time in the cartoon?

I guess we are ignoring the team as a whole not just the starting six.

    Ash
    Pikachu
    Bayleef
    Quilava
    Feraligatr
    Noctowl
    Heracross
    Donphan

All of which he currently has outside of Feraligatr. All but Bayleef evolved after Johto.

As for ones he did not get I would have lived to see him with.
    Larvitar
    Houndour

    Brock
    Steelix (evolved after Johto)
    Golem
    Forretress
    Crobat
    Sudowoodo (finally evolved in Sinnoh)

    For those he didn't have.
    Magcargo
    Tyrogue
Blissey(he may have one next time we see him since he has Chansey)

    Misty
Togetic (which it had upon it's release in Hoenn)
    Staryu & Starmie
    Seadra
    Politoed
    Corsola
    Seaking

For the ones she did not have.
    Lanturn
    Quagsire
Azumarill (even though she has a Azurill from Tracey Marill)
    Mantine

Evolve Ash's PKMN. That's it really. It's ridiculous that he uses them that much and they never evolve.
It is not ridiculous that Ash's pokemon do not evolve since the show isn't the games it is the anime. Pokemon can battle good with out having to evolve and the Johto team was handled perfectly fine in Johto as well as Misty's and Brock's teams were perfectly well handled.

Aspie3000,I disargee with you on you opinions which are not facts at all,Johto team was well train and well handled and they had prove to their self to be really strong.

Of course his opinions are not fact that's why there called opinions. He is not even arguing that anything is factual, the topic is speculation based for sharing "opinions". Although I do agree pokemon do not have to evolve to be strong or show great character development I personally favor them to be evolved. And as far as how Ash team was handled I do not care for it much at all. I do like how the transitioned away from the old Kanto pokemon, but they went back with the same old generic 3 starters on his team and regional with no rotation what so ever. I would have been way more satisfied if they didn't dangle Larvitar right in front of our faces and let it reunite with it's mother then it's mother convinced it every thing was alright and had it travel with Ash. I don't care much that Chikorita was the only poke to evolve on Ash team either. About the only think I disagree with aspie on is Umbreon, since Gary also had one. I don't care to see him and Gary with one, maybe give him an Espeon if any. And I was kind of glad Vulpix went back to Suzy, even though I did like it.

I do understand that opinions are opinions.

Evolved pokemon are cool after all,but Ash was never going to get Umbreon to begin with and Gary already had one.

I did love Vulpix and i wish it would have stay with Brock a little longer.

I've only been back for 2 days and I can already tell that you're one who enjoys arguing.

Ash trains and battles all the time. His PKMN should evolve a little more often. Hopefully, since this season features him rotating through his Pokemon, at least half of them will reach their final evolution.

You better look at your self since you like arguing with people not me.

Your opinions about his pokemon should evolve and it is not up to you to decide who evolves or not, since your not the writer of the show.

    Back on topic.

He have been rotating his pokemon a whole lot during this season, who knows how many of them might evolve, they all might evolve or a few of them may evolve.

It would be a nice change if all 3 of Ash's starters evolved to their final stage but that is unlikely.

Hmm, I've changed my mind about you and your arguing. I think you may just be misinterpreting what I'm saying. I'm not saying that I know better than the writers and I should decide who evolves and who doesn't. The point of this Topic is to post what we would personally change about the character's teams. In my opinion, I believe that since Ash trains so often, his Pokemon should evolve more often.

If you don't understand that, then I'm afraid there's not much more I can do.

Well, I do understand that Gary had an Umbreon, and I would have given ash an espeon except that I think ash would of been clobbered by Morty. If I remember correctly it was Noctowl and his confusion that beat Morty. I did not want Noctowl on Ashes team (it's not that I don't like noctowl it's just that Ash already had a generic normal/flying type on his team with pigeotto) so in order to fill that spot in the storyline where a pokemon has a type advantage over Morty I wanted him to have an Umbreon. Another reason why I wanted Ash to have an Umbreon is because Ash needs an eveelution in my opinion, it just fits him. Also they had just introduced the dark and steel types in the second generation, and what better way to showcase these types than to let ash have them. I think that Ash could have caught an Evee, met Gary's Umbreon which then would have made Evee want to become an Umbrean, and of course in the end Evee gets his wish. On a side note tough you seem to have a hard time distinguishing if some one is putting forth their argument as opinion or fact so let me make it simple for you.

    Spoiler:

Notice the bold on the word opinion......

I'm glad Ash had Noctowl on his team since he fit Ash perfectly fine,Umbreon didn't fit Ash at all anyways. Umbreon was a more better fit for Gary then it would have been for Ash,i'm glad Ash never gotten Umbreon as his pokemon and Noctowl was a much better pokemon for his team.

It just seems to me that Noctowl was pigeotto #2, I would have liked to have seen Skarmorey as his flying type, It would have strayed away from the generic Normal/Flying type.

Noctowl was a bit more different from Pidgeotto in that it had Psychic powers, which help it defeat Morty Gengar ghost pokemon in battle.

Skarmorey was a cool pokemon but it wouldn't fit him as his normal/flying type as Noctowl do.

Well, yeah I could see how you could think that Noctowl fits him better, but another thing that I like about Skarmorey and Umbreon being on ashes team is that you wouldn't expect it.

Skarmorey and Umbreon are not really pokemon that is expected to ever be on Ash's team, but it is a good idea.

Ooh, Ash having a Skarmory and an Umbreon would be really good. Like you said, it wouldn't be something we expected and it would been interesting to see how he deal with them.

I would love to see Ash with a Vulpix/Ninetails, Golduck, Magby, Murkrow, Teddiursa or a Sneasel.

I'd make the starters split between the entire group (like in Hoenn) and not all of them being owned by Ash.

If I'd change a main character's team I'd like to see Dawn with a Cubchoo, Elgyem, Teddiursa, Roserade, Gothitelle or an Eeveelution.

I like that Ash had all of the starter pokemon instead of them split up like it was in Hoenn.

I like that strategy of the starters being split up between the travellers and i'm not going to lie, I loved how they did it in Hoenn, breath of fresh air. I'd love to see them do it again.

Also, that's a pretty badass team for Dawn. I love Cubchoo so I approve wholeheartedly. Each of the Pokemon really suit her girly personality. All except Elgyem but that would be a great difference. Like Dawn was with Mamoswine.
