In my current game of Crystal my rival is called Severus.
I always give my rivals an evil medieval name.

I wish I could make my rivals female and name them after the irritating and supercilious girls in my school. Muhaha!!!:badsmile:

I usually give myself a girl's Irish name, like Siofra, Saoirse or Nula etc. My own name, Saorlait, is one letter too long.:(
But in my current Crystal I broke with tradition and called myself Aurora.

But usually I named him after someone in my life I couldn't stand... Always a great way to let out pent up frustrations :D

On Yellow, I named him Gary. I forget his name on Crystal, but on my Crystal Emulator, I took a leaf from Scott Ramsoomair's book... If anyone's read his Pokemon comic, Super Effective!, you'd know what he named his rival, which I also named my rival.

i named him gary in RBY and GSC, then in Pearl, I named him whatever the first choice is that they give you.

One time I named him Name because it says "New Name" when you want to make your own name for gary in RBY

In G/S/C I always named him ??? because that is what they called him in the first battle XDDD
I also always got pissed at him at the start when he pushed me away O_o

I used to name his ???? until my friend said that his name was actually Gary (I was much more gullible back then), so I named him Gary.

Nowadays I call him Silver and that's only because that's his actual name.
