Question: What's up with the Wailord sized signatures?

So I've been going around the forums trying to familiarize myself with the everything, and I've noticed... a lot of people have giant signatures! It really bothers me because I have to double read everything (including their signature) to figure out their post?

So let me get to the point: is there away to block certain people's signatures?

Unless you have something that can block images (assuming those are the problem), there's really no way to do so - it's all or none in the forum settings.

Although if they're large enough to be breaking the rules, feel free to report them and somebody should take care of it. :)

Horribly beaten. Darn me for being thorough. There are two ways.

With Firefox, you can use the add-on "Adblock" to block the pictures in members' signatures. That might help a bit, since 500px by 300px is rather good size.

To block everyone's signatures, go to your User CP, Edit Options, and then down to Thread Display Options. The first thing under that are three click boxes asking you if you want to show signatures, avatars, and attachments and images in posts. Check the first box off, save, and there you go. No more signatures at all.

And yeah, if you think a signature is too large, report a post made by the member in question, and the staff will look into it.

You can't block a set few. If you block signatures, you block everyone's.
Yeah I figured i would have too block everybody's sig, which I don't want to do :(

Oh no it's not images (aren't those handled by the image size restriction thing?) I've seen like two or three people who took their time to write out entire essays in the sig, I would take screen shots to show you, but I forgot where I saw them....

Oh yeah I already have Adblock ^_^

Like I stated to Sylphiel, the problem is the sigs with entire books written in them. If I ever happen to see them again I'd be more than glad to report them ;)

There is also a limit to the amount and the size of text in a signature. They're all listed in the Signature Rules and Review thread so members may write an essay, as long there is no image, the size of the text is 1px and it's less than 25 characters.

So, if you want to block out too much writing, simply try and ignore it or block all signatures manually using the steps Astinus gave above.
