What's up KMF! I don't do Wi-Fi battles much since my team's unfinished but you're going to find lots of people to battle if you look through our Battle Center board. You can include your friend code in your signature whenever as well, so go ahead and add that in if you're looking to advertise for battles. :3 Welcome to the forum! :)
So you've been playing Pokemon for a long while, yeah? I got into it in the late 1990s and am still a huge fan. We have all sorts of people all around the community here that have either been fans since its early days or are newer to the series; lots of diversity around here so the forum is quite great. I still need to beat the Pokemon World Tournament in my Black 2 but my god never did I think it would be kind of difficult ugh. I have a nicely EV-trained team but sometimes the enemies hand my butt to me and I lose by a landslide. Maybe it's just my poor luck. If you're into B/W2, why not discuss it in the Fifth Generation Gaming board? There are a lot of fun things to talk about there and if you're interested you can even log your journey throughout the game using its travel journal thread. Nice little thing to look back on in the future!

As Cirny mentioned above, we have a Battle section where you can jump right in and battle with people...whether on wifi or by online server. PC has its own online battle server where you can battle competitively and well...have a wonderful time here. :) There's also a Trading section right above the battle section, where you can join in the craze of trades and trade the Pokemon you want to be traded. You should post your FC on your signature for better advertisement, and when you want to trade or battle, people will see your FC and add you in an instant. That always works. xD
And as always, battling and trading with people are great ways to meet friends here. Even discussing with people here in the forums are also great ways to meet friends, because we all share the same common interests in Pokemon. :3
