This thread makes me cry.
My favourite fruits are mangoes, plums and watermelons. I've always associated these fruits to the summer/spring (not only because they're ripe then), thus why I enjoy them other than just the taste. For me, summer and spring have always been memorable seasons, so as a child, I remember eating those fruits then going for a swim in the pool, so nostalgia also plays a part in why I enjoy them.
Mangoes are primarily my favourite fruit. Ever since a little kid, I've always enjoyed mangoes. Out of all three mentioned, it's my favourite fruit to have in the morning - while interestingly enough, I don't believe I've had plums in the morning before. Watermelons are delicious too - and are perfect for a hot summers day, and a fruit that I can eat every morning and enjoy it (noting that mangoes are a treat, while watermelons are basically everyday.) I like plums because we have a plum tree down the back, near where the pool used to be. I remember waiting patiently until spring came around, and I saw the flowers, then soon after came plum spotting. I used to love walking over to the tree everyday, trying to find a new plum, waiting until it became ripe, and eating it. I don't recall getting plums from the shops though, but even if I did, I'd still prefer the ones from our tree.
And, although it wasn't asked, my least favourite fruits are pineapples, bananas, cherries and rockmelon. The latter two I don't mind much, but I really don't like pineapples due to the taste - too sweet, and bananas because they look unappealing, feel strange and don't taste so good either. Though with bananas, it might be because I've always associated eating bananas with babies, and it's kind of put me off them I guess.
