Hey so Often I've been hearing these phrases like ou/uu and nu. If im correct they mean over, under and never used... from some website called smogun or something

I think its kinda unfair because i checked and most of my favorite pokemon are in the uu and nu tier and It basically puts a loser label on you which is just rediculous.

    some of my favorites:

    staraptor

    sableye

    Gardevoir

    Swampert

    Zangoose

those are just some off the top of my head.

Pokemon shouldnt be put into groups to make people stay away from specific ones because then all your going to see Is people using the same pokemon over and over again while they would probably think your some sort of n00b because your not using whats wroten down as "the best".

Okay? It doesn't mean you have to go by it. And in their tier, they can be pretty useful. It's not like cliques in high school. It's just a classification, if you will. Though you're thinking "what's the difference?", it's that there's not gossip omg certain places where it can be good. And you can use something out of its tier, btw. And people don't normally expect it, so that can be considered the element of surprise.

Hehe Don't feel bad because some of your favorites are in the lower tiers, as the poster above said it's even more satisfying to beat a team of OU with UU and NU Pokemon :3 I love Arcanine and Poliwrath, and they're both UU, but I still use them on my team. Although it can get annoying to have some elitists go around assuming that UU and NU Pokemon are completely useless. When my Arcanine 1HKOs with a Flare Blitz I get to wipe the smirk of of there face, and it's one of the best feelings xD

Oh and another way to look at it is that tiers can give some Pokemon (Let's say Macargo, who normally has a bad typing and bad stats) a chance to shine, because in the UU tier there are many bug and flying types and Macargo's rock type is really useful...Just because your favorite is in a lower tier doesn't mean you shouldn't use it xD

REMEMBER TIERS ARE FOR QUEERS (Hehe Brawl Taunts ftw!)

^ Those are like the "you're not ugly. everyone is beautiful in their own way" answers.
    Your favorite Pokemon suck.

    Spoiler:

Actually tiers exist so that the lower-tiered pokemon don't have to have to be completely overshadowed by the higher-tiered pokemon. OUs have the spotlight in the standard competitive scene, but there are separate ladders and tournaments just for people who like to build teams using UUs or NUs. :D

Teirs are a way to balance the game. without them, we would be over run with deoxys, and palkia and the like. With this system, my bellossom can be just as useful as my giratina. You shouldent be offended that some of the pokemon you like are NU. It actually helps you.
