What's your favourite piece of Pokemon artwork?

Is it a spread from the manga, or an anime picture? Or some old Sugimori stuff?

Here are two of my favourites, one's a kid's book illustration that I think is really adorable, and the other one is a beach scene that I don't know the source for:

Perhaps my favourites are on some cards I own.

I'm quite fond of this Anime and Movie poster....

Kirbychu, WOW, I've never even seen that before. ::saves:: Man, I gotta track down a hard copy of that. I love when the use the realistic maps, and seeing them all like that is awesome.

I love it when they put a lot of pokemon together in the artwork. I found a wallpaper I'd forgotten I had, and even though it's more anime style than illustration, it's so bright and happy, I love looking at it. And check out Meowth inside the Pokemon Center with his cheek pressed against the glass door, LOL. (Damn, photobucket resized it. The original is bigger.)

    Spoiler:

I have some cards I've collected as well, definitely for the art, since I never really played the card game.

Gotta love the look of Ludicolo in that picture XD

    Ludicolo is so cute <3

I loved the old TCG cards. Haven't seen new ones for many years. I remember how everybody wanted to get some bad cards just because the images were beautiful xD We were so young...

But the best image is one from PokéSpe... if I can find the one...

It's the one used in the Forever Standing skin banner here on PC. I love the colored version. All the lovable PokéSpe characters are in it, looking out from a hill... Ah.

OMG. That scan. Just won my heart. Poor Togepi in the front! D:

I really like this scan, I wish I have a higher quality for it:

Kireihana, I can help with that a little--here's a higher-res version of that pic. It's not bigger, unfortunately, but it is cleaner:

Hey, Broadway, do you know where you got that image of Tangela writing that's in your signature?

I'm rather fond of these, for inspiration and nostalgia purposes:

Wow, Redstar, that last pic with Mew and the female trainer is lovely. ::saves::

The Tangela picture is from the same book as that alphabet I posted up top. Here's the original page spread:

And here's just Tangela, if you wanted that in particular, since Photobucket resizes everything and the original was really big:

    Thanks, Broadway! :]

The girl is supposed to be a research scientist on Holon Island, an area in the TCG. It's part of a series, so here's a few more:

    Spoiler:

I think I've seen the book that has the images you've shown around, so I may have to look into it. I'm surprisingly interested. Thanks for the Tangela shots too. :)

No problem! Hey, I have scans of all the book's pages (or I think I do at least... it was an old Livejournal post that I got them from I think, someone had scanned their copy, if I remember right). I'll upload them on photobucket tomorrow, and because they get resized, I'll zip them into a file and stick it up on sendspace. They really are nice pics.

Send me a PM or VM sometime. Love to skim through.

The GSC Red was always a cool guy, but this... this is just...

Now that is definitely an inspiring piece of work. Source?

I found it on /r9k/ with a caption like, "I WANT TO DO SOMETHING COOL AND AWESOME LIKE THE GUY IN THE PICTURE. SEE, HE'S DOING SOMETHING COOL AND AWESOME."

WOW that picture of Red really is epic. The original starters looking so... noir. Awesome.

And 'cause Redstar was interested, here's something epic mainly in cuteness, and done in a pretty sweet watercolour/pencil-looking art style. I'm spoilering the heck out of these, because there are 15 of them.

Here's a zipped download of all of them in their un-photobucket-resized version (they're quite big).
