Naturally, Indigo. The pacing was better, the characters more distinct, it had Misty, Team Rocket at their prime, and, back then, gym leader fights weren't simply plot necessities; they were experiences. I still feel the Sabrina arc is one of the best story arcs in Pokemon history. It had many extremely emotional scenes that are still tear jerkers, and a lot of heartwarming scenes that, even in the dub, leave you moved and teary eyed.

Plus, it was in an era where Ash and Misty were bound to be romantically involved.

Sinnoh. The gym battles where cool and of course Team Galactic is there <3

Uh... my favorite was... uh... Indigo League/Kanto saga, because the running gags weren't old at that point, among the facts that Ash/Satoshi was often the butt of all the jokes, and really struggled with training his Pokemon a lot. ^-^;;

Though the Johto saga was more technically impressive for its era than any other saga, save for the early Advance Gen saga, in my opinion.

The Kanto Battle Frontier; not because we were back in Kanto again, but because I enjoyed more or less a majority of the episodes that were in this arc. The bringing back of Ash's older Pokémon again put a good touch on things. However, I would say it was the Grand Festival in this saga that had me favor it the most. While the Sinnoh Grand Festival had an impressive way of showing off contest battles and appeals, I just didn't find it as great as when May did it. While I know that sounds biased, considering I'm a fan of May, I just never got the same enjoyment out of it with Dawn.

The Indigo Saga was great for old times sake, but it wasn't the best. To be honest, if I had to watch it all again, I doubt I would enjoy it as much. I missed a lot of Johto, which is depressing because to me they had the best generation of Pokémon at that time, but I don't think I missed much either. I got to see Ash compete in the Johto League - from his victory against Gary to his loss against Harrison. But this too just doesn't spark as much interest as the Advanced Generation, Battle Frontier, and DP Saga have.

Anyone who voted for Sinnoh or the upcoming B/W is a newb and in 90% of cases under 14 years of age. I'm not being a jerk because it means "new" and it's true. As for me Kanto and Johto is a tie.. I mean Kanto was the first one so it was amazing but Johto was just as awesome if not better, not to mention orange islands emotional role. I voted for Johto simply because it only had 2 votes. Kanto and Johto regions will never be beaten anime wise.

-.-" Sorry but that sounded terribly "newby"
I didn't add Isshu to the poll because it's only just started!
But for DP I think your just being Nostalgic! DP finnished just last month, I don't see why anyone wouldn't pick it whatever age they are, my cousin is 10 and hes watched the whole series and wasn't alive when it started! I don't see whats wrong with DP being their fav, at least most people have ACTUAL reasons like how it's improved etc.. other then "the indigo ledge because it was first season" n' all that poo... Look at that, you wrote kanto because it was first and amazing xD

My cousin would be very ashamed of you! LOL

Johto and Shinou for me. Shinou was so colorful and it had Shinji and so much unexpected turns and twists. I hear the writers are going to try to top Shinou with Isshu cuz they said they were going to make the pacing better but that's about quality and not personal preference.

Johto had everything that I liked about the Indigo League without the things I disliked about the Indigo League. It was Ash, Misty and Brock but in all new episodes and with new Pokemon. Sometimes nothing beats a mix of old and new.

And to be honest, I do still miss the old trio now and then, no matter how much I like Hikari or Iris.

Firstly, BW isn't even there in the list. I don't think there is anything wrong with people liking DP, it is just their personal preference. Most of us, the older guys, find the original series better, because it was new to us. Maybe, as the series progressed, some of us got bored of the Anime. To a person who starts watching DP or BW, would find that to be interesting as well.

We haven't even seen much of BW, but of what I have seen of the first few episodes, BW looks great. But again, that is my personal view. Might be very different for someone else.

I think the quality of artwork is a bit lacking, 'cause I've seen screencaps people have taken where some characters look completely 2-dimensional and have no depth.

Indigo, I think shows get more involved as they go on. I like a simple, nice anime with good plot. in the beginning Ash was very dumb and weak. The series shows his growth and his humble roots are IMO what draws a lot of ppl, we can all relate to being that newb when we started playing pokemon.

I went back to see the episode, and yes, you are right. All characters lack depth and they don't give the impession of being 3D.
Maybe they have a rookie graphic artist?

Tomohiro Koyama (BW002) started doing things solo in DP169. Shino Ikeda (BW003) and Takahashi Shinohara (BW004) are both new. Izumi Shimura (BW001) has been there since Kanto and the episode she directed was pretty good.

e: Also, the proper term is Animation Director.

Alright, now you got me angry, I've watched the show since the Kanto league and I still find D/P series the best. I liked the other past series too for many reasons, D/P series just had more things that I liked about it. You have to love Kanto in order to be a pro fan eh? Geese.

Sinnoh. I think it's the only series I've watched from beginning to end. I also think it had the best battles in the series, both in intensity and animation-wise.

I hope Masaaki Iwane and some others from DP come back.
