On Emerald, I just beat the Elite 4 and my team is

Lvl. 47 Skarmory
Lvl. 71 Rayquaza
Lvl. 30 Wailmer (water HM slave)
And Lvl. 2 Zigzagoon (land HM slave and for pickup)

I don't prefer to have a team filled with gigantic Ubers, or extremely destructive attacks, so I stick all the destructive attacks to one pokemon who can learn 'em.
Oh and my HM Slaves carry the moves that can be used for attacking too Fly, Strength etc. besides Surf.
