Oh and the fact that shanghai area is closer to hoenn, is because hoenn itself is supposed to be farther then other regions, and since isshu has a luvdisc evo, it is just logical to place it at least nearby hoenn, but still keeping the fact that isshu is farther then other ragions and that u can only access it by air or water.

Is there evidence of a Luvdisc evo?

Not yet, but it kinda looks like it, we will just have to w8 to games to come out to confirm it.

You guys are drifting off-topic from where you think Isshu's location is. Discuss those things in the appropriate threads (old Pokemon, new evolutions and the R/S remakes speculation in General Pokemon Gaming).

I knew NYC was considerably (obviously) different in real life size from the other regions, but shanghai is about the same size. Honestly, as much as I like the NYC idea, I'm thinking Shanghai. Also the closeness to hoenn (and the same rotation for the game map) would make sense with the hoenn remakes so likely, and they will obviously easily connect. Also, the far-away ness could refer to the fact that it's out of real life japan. And the american references could just be... references. Hiun just looks like NY Harbor, and Liberty Island thing takes place close to it, is all just one reference to america. Also, let's see if Lt. Surge is from isshu, that'll be a good way to tell :)

Well I feel its a mix of two regions myself
Offtopic :but...I must say...Nintendo said they wanted to expand on their player base..but on my trip to China not to long ago I noticed barely anyone had any official nintendo products it was mostly bootleg stuff but meh...Nintendo does what it does :P

In response to all of the people who were referencing the actual area of NYC to previous game location regions, I really don't think it would be literally just the city, probably quite a bit of the surrounding area. The problem is with doing stuff like this in America is that we really have no "regions" like there is in Japan, or if we do they're MASSIVE, and New York as a state is much bigger than a Pokemon region needs to be, so just.... boundaries for the Isshu region (if it was in fact based in America) are probably really vague.

I also don't think it's very likely that they would combine two separate parts of the world, since there isn't any precedence. Then again, a lot of BW lacks precedence.

@Yellowbird : If you look at the C-gear map (The in game one) There is a arrow at the bottom of the screen which seems to point north of the know part of isshu so it probably is bigger.

Well there's no proof it is more of Isshu, I mean, it could just be a way to scroll through versions of the map. I honestly don't think there's much more to the north, just forest and mountains.

Well you can always hope :P but I agree with you seeing how the north is always some deadzone that you cant go past.

Yeah I think it's a mix of the two as well, well China's market is growing...so they would like to appeal to them :P

China runs off cheap labor so idk....I mean if its in China it might cause some epic nintendo buying revolution.

It could be actually :P
Offtopic: did you know that the DS is made in China, look at the back of yours and you will see "Made it China"
Ontopic: Isshu seems to be moving away from NY in my head now...I am now more confused on where it's based on...

China makes a bit more sense... culturally I think. Less of a huge jump than the US.

But I think with all of the physical evidence in front of us, the US would make more sense.

Me, living in the US and having visited NYC a few times, I would think it would be really cool, so I suppose no matter what I may be irrationally interpreting the evidence so that it leans to NYC, but if it was in China I don't suppose I would be so upset. It would just be like every other Pokemon game xD
