where's Ash's dad??

Wait, I'm pretty sure the GS ball was left with Kurt. That's not really the point, but...

I don't really think the writers are too concerned about the whereabouts of Ash's dad on account that the series doesn't look like it's coming to a dramatic end anytime soon.

There are animes that evade that first cliche and just end abruptly. I doubt Pokemon will just end right as Ash enters the league, but it most likely won't fret itself over otherwise trivial matters, unless there's a bigger influence on Ash's dad in Japan.

However, if they did for some reason show his dad, he'll probably be some random guy or a gym leader/elitist in some far off future generation.
 
no one knows who ash's dad was, when ash was talking to his mum on the video phone on the 2nd episode of pok?mon the series, his mum said:'your the apple of your father's eye!' ash said: 'yeah an rotten apple' (i think) so i'm guessing that maybe ash's dad left her mum or maybe he died on his pok?mon journey, we never know.....
 
But hte only reason why he referred to himself as a rotten apple was becasue he felt bad about how poorly his journey began. :\

Well if Giovanni was Ash's dad, that would be SO interesting.

well, you never know. In pkmn heroes, Ash and Latias sure got along well, and she could turn herself into a human!! :laugh:

Yep, that's right. But no, I'm not a n00b. There is more evidence to back this up than anything else. For example, the reason Ash saw Ho-oh in episode 1 could be it watches over him (assumption). There are many more reasons at PikaSurf (I think that's the link), so check those too, I can't be bothered copying them here.

This is a nice idea, but in later episodes when the story of Ho-oh is explained, it is said that Ho-Oh has been watching over the whole world for some time, waiting for the pokemon and humans to work together the way they should. Ash is the closest one to accomplishing Ho-Oh's dream of Pokemon/Human equality.
 
that makes since and can also explain how come Ash was able to see Entai and Suicune. its also explains why Bayleaf is very affectionate to Ash
 
I guess Ashes dad is dead and his mom dosen't talk about him cause of her feelings.

Seriously though, Ash's dad doesn't appear in show because he wasn't shown in the original games. Since they wanted to take the story kind of directly from the games at the start of it, they didn't show his dad. Later on, they just stopped caring about it altogether.
 
Purrhaps his dad left him, they never mention him anyway! XD

That's pretty much what I've been saying, right there.

And I doubt Bayleef's affections had anything to do with Ash's kinship with Pokemon. Otherwise, she (or it, if that's how you'd have it) wouldn't've been so apt to knock Pikachu away for some quality time with Ash. It was simply a crush.
 
I think Ash is better with just a Mum, shes nice enough.
 
I think Ash's dad is Giovanni. I read it on some Official Pokemon Site. I forgot the link. I do know that Ash's dad wanted to become the greatest pokemon trainer, and never came back till he fulfilled his destiny. So who knows.Maybe at the end of the series we shall see =-o. and Maybe Jessie and James is Ash's Counsins LOLOLOL.
 
did Jessie and james ever get married? 0_o they really should ^_^ lol anyway i think what might have happend was that they did have a show with Ash's dad, but it came out really bad and nintendo refused to put it on the air, and the ppl who made pokemon probably had their story messed up because of this and then tried to think of another way to add ash's dad in the story without it not messing up the story line, lol that's what i think ^_^
 
heck, for all we know, Lance could be Ash's dad! or a Gym Leader.....so many possibilities....someone somewhere has it right, but they don't know it yet.

I'm afraid I'd ahve to say you're confused, since NOt only do I still believe that is a high improbability, but Nintendo would never just go out and give away a secret like that. They like the suspense when it comes to the show.

As for was hosho said, it's always fun to speculate, even if we don't know for a fact. :D

it's Hoshi ^^; But i truley think that Ash's dad is like the champion of a pokemon leauge or something....who knows?

how can that be because Jessie and James arent even related to Giovanni and They each have a episode talking a little bit of there past
 
I too think it's Giovanni,remember on the very 1st or 2nd epesode of pokemon,Ash's mom said it took him 3 days to get to VIRIDIAN CITY?Well, what if he stayed??? :paranoid:
