I prefer Y it keeps it's Special Attacker status and gives me another Drought user if I need it. Not to mention it's not walled by Sylveon.

X is very overrated, mostly because of its Dragon typing and look. Y is a lot better honestly and stronger.

Charizard X, Its Dragon, and looks awesome Black with blue flames whereas Charizard Y is just looks like it has some terrible mutating disease.

It comes down to this: in a real life scenario which one would you run from? Answering honestly, I would probably attempt to feed CharY a cupcake and an axe to CharX.

Before leaks started coming out I seriously thought it was going to be another gardevoir and gallade (male / female forms) thing.

I love the design of Mega Charizard Y. X is overrated for the same reason as normal Charizard, the dragon look. Of course Y still looks like a dragon, but it's not a huge design change.

I have X, plan to use Mega Charizard X some time in competitive play/the Battle Maison, but honestly, I prefer Mega Charizard Y. I feel it stays true to the original design, but adds onto it. Mega Charizard X is black, because Gamefreak knows Shiny Charizard is one of the most sought after shinies, and it's Dragon because Gamefreak knows that many people wish Charizard was a Dragon to begin with. It feels like Mega Charizard X only exists to keep the fans happy.

I prefer Y's appearance, because X retains the bulky fatty look.

Really depends I love them both! X is a great physical attacker, and can run Steel Wing to break Sylveon and other Fairy walls. Dragon Dance, Outrage, and Flare Blitz gives it very strong STAB.

Y is great for 1 turn Solarbeams for water types, as well such strong Fire Blasts, and Air Slashes!

Tough decision, but I'm going to say X. I hate the desgign of X's wings but I love it's coloring and typing.
Y has a cool design, but I'm not fond of orange, especially when combined with green. I also don't like that it has drought, it's going to be the new big Sun summoner leaving Ninetales to be forgotten once more. Or maybe the weather nerf will render them both useless.

Design-wise, I like Charizard Y more. X is all right, but its color scheme just don't really fit it. Plus, I really don't like how it's got those flames sticking out of its mouth. To me, they look as if they're some of a mustache. d: In terms of battling, though, Mega Charizard X is definitely my favorite. It has gargantuan offensive stats, and thanks to its Tough Claws ability, it gets an additional boost to all moves that make direct contact. Charizard X could make a great sweeper for almost any of your teams.
