4th Gen Which game should I get!? Help!

Sorry I didn't use a prefix! This involves Pokemon Platinum, Heart Gold, and White!

I'm likely to get a Pokemon game this weekend. I can't decide on which game to get though.

I like the first two generations of Pokemon the most. So that makes me want Heart Gold

I want something new!
That makes me lean toward Platinum and White.

I don't want to skip a generation, but White seems better than Platinum.

O,o Please help me choose everyone!

I'm leaning toward Pokemon White the most. Gold is so tempting though.

P.S. I'll get all of them once I have the money. Which ones will become scarce in retail? I only know of one store that has Platinum! Heart Gold is at two stores. White is easy to find.

I can TOTALLY recommend HeartGold! I have SoulSilver myself and I absolutely love it! I've had it for over 2 years and it's, next to the PMD series, the best game of the pokemon series!
The graphics aren't as good as in White, though. I have that one too. But I don't really like White's storyline.
I was already familiar with the storyline of SS, but experienced a whole new way around it and I never get bored of it!

It would be awesome if I could get all the starters and legendarys! I've heard that people can duplicate Pokemon and trade them. I don't know much about it, but I'll look into it elsewhere.

I have it on my ds, bought it myself. But I have a few legendaries that I got from a hacked pokemon Platinum on an r4 card. Mew, Deoxys, Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, and so on.

I really am leaning towards Heart Gold now. The only thing is. Platinum seems to be incredibly hard to find and I want a copy of it. I don't use R4s 'cuz I've heard that Nintendo can Brick your 3DS remotely!

In general the older games should be more scare... but I don't think they would disappear completely for a good while yet. Naturally this depends though on the country you are in/the stores you visit (you can also always ask them if they have it in stock/can get it I suppose with Platinum if you still have trouble trying to find it). Note also that there's always the chance that BW will have a third version that would have more features/etc (maybe next year or two years... or of course never) so maybe waiting with BW is an idea. But it's up to you on which you get first - all really are decent games as far as they go. I imagine HGSS and Platinum (latter is older out of the three so it'll make sense it's the cheapest) is still currently cheaper than BW though which won't change much in price until the next main Pokemon game comes out.

I don't see much more discussion coming from this though besides people advocating the games they like the best, so if you have any other questions please ask them in the Help thread sticky at the top of this section (or B/W's section if it is about those games). Closed.
