Forgive me if this is in the wrong area of the forum, it didn't seem like one to go under any of the specific generation boards since it relates to all of them.

Anyways, the title really does say it all here, which generation's starter Pokemon did you dislike the most?

For me it has to be Hoen (Generation III) I just didn't like any of them, not even Mudkip, and I usually love the water starters being a water Pokemon nutcase. I dunno what it was but I just didn't for some reason.

    So, what is yours?

    Kanto's. *shot mauled and tortured*
All you nostalgia people out there might hate me and all you other people who lurv Kanto might hate me more but I just found it too unoriginal. Yes I am implying that I found all the other generations original. I mean come on Jhoto was just pure win and Hoenn was surely the top of the line and Sinnoh was just plain Sinnoh being all cool. And some of the typings for the later 2 generations are very useful. I am looking at you Empoleon and Swampert.

While you are entitled to your own opinion, the Kanto starters were the very first ones, so how could they be unoriginal?

Not trying to change your overall opinion, that statement just doesn't make any sense to me, no offence.

Sorry I meant bland. I mean a big dinosaur thing with a palm tree a dragon with a fire on its tail and a turtle with cannons on its back is just I dunno boring in my book. But a nice big penguin with looks like that and a fire/fighting chicken with bell bottom jeans like legs just scream cool for me. Oh and so does a big ferret thing with a fire collar.

I think it would have to be Gen IV for me. It's not really that I particularly dislike them so much as I like all the other starters better. I just didn't find myself as attached to them as all the others I guess.

Fair enough I suppose, I thought they looked awesome myself. the Hoen ones looked ridiculous to me personally, especially Treecko.

I would have said Sinnoh, but Chimchar's coolness makes up for the other two's ok-ness. I voted Hoenn. I do like them all, especially Mudkip, but they're just not the greatest. Blaziken is cool with his Fire/Fighting combo, but Sceptile is just plain boring. Generation 1 was the best in my opinion. Very simple but completely cool. All the starters in the second generation are equally cool as each other, so it would be hard to choose a favourite out of them.

Hoenn sucks. The only thing good about it was Swampert (even his epicness can't make up for the other two's failness) and some other Pokemon. Johto beats all. Sinnoh comes in second, while Kanto closes into third.

Johto starters are just odd and their evolutions suck. I only like Quilava.

I don't like Sinnoh's starters :< None'a them look cool in my opinion~ I chose Piplup as my starter in both Diamond and Platinum, but I don't like startin' with a Water-type Pokemon as a general thing. I really don't like Turtwig and really really don't like Chimchar, though~ -w-

    Then it's prob'ly Hoenn's starters, then Kanto's, with Johto's as my favorites :>

Sinnoh's starters don't exactly leave me jumping for joy.
I didn't care about my starter at all (Turtwig),so I just replaced him with Vileplume :D

For me its hoenn. None of them look good except Mudkip maybe. Treekos final evolution is well, Lame... Sorry to anyone who personally likes scepitle (if i spelt it right)

I gotta say the 3rd gen is my least favorite, but I still think Sceptile is awesome looking! xD

Some voted Sinnoh, aw, I loved the Sinnoh starters, Piplup is so cute and Turtwig is pretty awesome too ^^ not too keen on Chimchar but even him I like better than the Hoen starters personally.

I agree with the majority and say Hoenn.

Treecko is not a very useful Pokemon that I tried once and didn't dare to try again. I just didn't think he was a very useful Pokemon and dropped him pretty early on. Mudkip is utterly stupid (and yes, I DO NOT LIEK THEM), and the only redeeming feature of Torchic is the coolness factor of its evolutions.

...it doesn't help that I hated Hoenn as a whole.

    I'd have to go with the Sinnoh starters. Piplup is pretty cool, and I don't mind the second evolution of Turtwig either, but the rest I could live without. ;/ Turtwig and Grotle are just a little bit too silly for me, and as for Chimchar and it's evolutions.... No comment. o__O;;;

I don't really dislike any generation's starters, I would have said third gen though if it wasn't for Mudkipz so I choose 4th gen, because in general I just don't like them as much...

The Sinnoh starters just were absolutely disgusting. >:
In all the other regions it was pretty easy to pick one looking at them the first time. But with these ones I just gave up and chose Chimchar because he was one of the few fire mons in Sinnoh.
And in my opinion, the first generation starters were the best.
