I have heard lots of languages of Pokémon openings, and I own a lot of them. I have some on MP3 and others I recorded with Audacity. What language opening do you prefer and why?

Spanish opening it has a good rythm

Japanese. They just seem to be better made and vary a lot more than the English ones (and are longer). I'm sure the English ones use synthesisers for the background music for the songs whereas the Japanese ones obviously don't (except High Touch, I think). I mean, if you compare Together to Spurt to Ready Go, they're really different. But the English ones sound rather samy from the 4th-8th, I can't quite put my finger on it how they are, though. I also really like the Italian ones because they're really catchy, but Japanese is usually the best.

Don't the Chinease and Korean openings just translate the Japanese openings (or at least keep the same opening theme and put in whatever lyrics) rather than change it like everyone who gets the dub from 4Kids/PUSA?

Not all of them, some are translated/altered from the Japanese and others are original.

Oh, I think the only Korean opening I've seen is the first and it had the same opening but different lyrics

That's odd... all the videos I've seen for the first Korean opening are not the same as any Japanese opening. It's a bunch of guys (or girls, depending on which version you watch) singing a 57 second song that mentions Pikachu a lot.

Maybe you mean the second Korean opening, which is a more upbeat version of the second Japanese opening?

Oh no wait, I was wrong. The only time I seen it was about 2 years ago I think, so I must've got mixed up with the Japanese one haha. I'm watching through the Korean ones now, they seem kinda cool. Wait, I know why I got mixed up, the Chinease animation opening is the same...which has nothing to do with the Korean version, but it kind of explains.

Hey, Hey, HEY!!! Mexico is like the direct hemorrhoid killer of the US and you don't include it there!? >:o

The Mexican opening actually have REAL lyrics. PUSA disgraces the Japanese openings with their openings and Mexico turns them to magic.

The Japanese's more catchy for me, and I never liked dubs because they sound gay, yadda yadda yadda...

There's this dub song I really like (you know, the dub song with Challenger's screens?), AND "I wanna be a Pokemon Master" (obviously, everyone has grown onto it if you watched the dub...) but the songs (heck, even RAPS) are getting even worse.

    So yeah. Conclusion: Japanese.

Don't the Chinese and Korean openings just translate the Japanese openings (or at least keep the same opening theme and put in whatever lyrics) rather than change it like everyone who gets the dub from 4Kids/PUSA?

I come from China and I know what you are talking about. But I heard the first Advanced song, and they TOTALLY changed the lyrics to something else, which was really strange. And they even changed the whole original song to something stupid!

I prefer English opening and Japanese opening.

I like the English and Japanese language openings, but I prefer the Japanese over the English. Especially Poruka Odoru Ka! <3

    Noruka Soruka, Poruka Odoru Ka!
    Tonari no anta mo! <333333

Japanese opening has my vote. Though I do not like all the Japanese opening (Spurt for example)
I like most of the Japanese openings because the Japanese opening has opening-only animated scenes that are usually specifically made to fit with the song.
Plus the opening length are 1:30 making it better for me to enjoy a song when it is good. For example "Battle Frontier".
The song "This dream", for example. I get the feeling that the singer is trying to squeeze the song into 45 seconds. Which is to bad because I really like the song.

Contrary to my username, the English ones are my favorite, being my native language and what I grew up with. Japanese is definitely second, if all the openings were versions of Mezase Pokémon Master, it'd probably be first. Korean gets third for some cool techno beats.

    Because Mexican isn't a language.
