    Which do you prefer, FireRed and LeafGreen, or Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald?

    I don't know which to restart....

    Please add why!
     
    Other than the fact you can relive the time you played the good old first generations, you get to revisit each town in revamped graphics along with meeting the Pokemon which started off the whole franchise in FireRed and LeafGreen. If you're feeling nostalgic then I definitely recommend restarting one of these games over. However, if you'd like to trade or battle with friends, I suppose it depends on what versions they have due to compatibility.

    Unless you can bother to get the two gems necessary to trade to Ruby and Sapphire, I suggest FireRed or LeafGreen.
     
    I personally prefer Firered and Leafgreen because they take me back to the old days.

    If you were thinking of maybe restarting with newer pokemon then I would pick Emerald just because it was funner than Ruby and Sapphire.
     
    Emerald hands down as it has a cool storyline and after the E4 there is the challenge of the Battle Frontier, which by the by I haven't even completed yet after about 4 years :\
     
    Switchback~ I...have never even owned REd/Blue...xD And, can I please have the definition of nostalgic? I've been so annoyed that I never knew.......Oh, and, I can't trade or battle with people via GBA.

    In other words, when we're nostalgic we're remembering back to the older days of pokemon games, and since FireRed and LeafGreen are directly based off of the original two games, Red and Blue, the term applies :) Personally I prefer FireRed and LeafGreen over the Hoenn games, but I own all 5 and still play the others as well. I like the development of Saph., Ruby, and Emerald better because there's much more you can do in them, but the original story line is still my favorite :) I also prefer the original 151 pokemon over the Hoenn pokemon.

    Well, Never mind with Ruby and Sapphire, you can do everything and more (does that even make sense?) with Emerald, so really it's 50:50 between Kanto and Hoenn.
    The starters are better in FRLG, put frankly. They're bulkier, in appearance and in battle. The likes of Sceptile and Blaziken are taken down too easily. But that's only minor, really, as you don't even have to use the starters.
    Nostalgia.. It's when we feel really good about something that happened once, and to experience it again is to be nostalgic. You can probably imagine how nostalgic it feels for veterans of Gold and Silver to be announced.
    Anyways.. I'd play Emerald. No particular reason, but once you get into the swing of it you'll be addicted. FRLG.. It's good, but the initial storyline..
    I don't know. Sorry. Try closing your eyes, and just do eenie meenie mynie moe.
    Seriously.

    I chose R/S/E, because it has a better storyline in my opinion, But the downside is the graphics arent as good as in fr/lg, but the good thing about emerald is its pokemon have animations, so thats another reason I find it better.
     
    Fire Red and Leaf Green are better because they had the nostalgia. I remembered the storyline, but played it over again anyway just because it was new and improved.
     
    I guess this is just personal taste, but I'm always going to put RSE above FRLG. I dunno why. Yeah, FRLG were definitely better graphics wise and nostalgic gaming is always fun, but RSE just appeals to me more for some reason.
     
    I personally prefer firered, I never really liked hoenn that much..
     
    Okay.....now...I think I'll choose...to restart both. xD

    BUT, one of them....if it'sd allowed...nevermind.

    Firered and Leafgreen because it's so classic and the graphics are much smoother.
