Chikorita!! I love, love, LOVE Meganium. He's so goofy but adorable. A flowery dinosaur! :D It won my heart immediately and to this day is still one of my faves!! <3

Totodile because Feraligatr is my favourite final evolved starter Pokemon. Ever.

I usually always start with Cyndaquil as it's my favorite starter. It's adorable, and even though i don't care for the fire type, I still think Typhlosion is awesome. Back when I first got the game though I started with Chikorita, seeing how in Blue I started with Bulbasaur and thought it was the best choice. I was wrong though... :V It's my least favorite starter in Gen II. :\

In G/S I pick Totodile every time and it's always named Crocogator.

Crystal's a bit different. I'm willing to get Chikorita since Growlithe and Poliwag give a nice early Grass/Fire/Water core, but sometimes I get Cyndaquil and apply the same principle with a Bellsprout.

I started with Totodile in Gold and Crystal and Cyndaquil in Silver. I always go for the water starter in my first game of a generation (at least) (in this case, that was Gold). I think I actually started with Totodile on Silver at first as well, but at that point, I was just using Silver as a storage pack/trading source for Gold and Crystal. Several years after I got Silver (sometime after Gold died in 2006), I finally restarted my Silver game, made a "real" file, and played through the game with the Cyndaquil line.

I don't think I've ever started with Chikorita, aside from playing the first 15 minutes of the game or so to trade it to another file.

For all generations I'd always choose a fire starter. I've always loved them, cause they pack a whole lot of power and dexterity, and of course their 1st stages are so damn cute <3 The first time I played around with my sister's Silver and accidentally restarted it, then saved, I chose a Totodile, my sis was a huge water type picker, regardless of the generation. I'm the opposite so I always ended up choosing Cyndaquil ( In the Anime he was so cute and adorable <3). Even in Gen 4's HGSS: Cyndaquil always won me over.

I usually picked Cyndaquil, but I went with Totodile sometimes. I like fire and water types, so I was happy either way. Once in a while I chose Chikorita, and Chikorita was actually the first Gen 2 starter I ever chose, but Meganium just never ended up being as useful as Typhlosion or Feraligatr (or as awesome looking).

With goldi chose Cyndaquil, but for Crystal, i chose a Totodile. and it was a beast feraligatr in the end.

I always pick the water starter. Squirtle got me loving them. And Totodile was a beast. So how was I not going to pick him?! :)

In both Gold and Crystal I chose Chikorita. Not really sure why, it sucks for the first two gyms haha.

When I very first started Gold back in the day I chose Totodile because he was a spunky little gator but I had some difficulties with Red at the time because my team wasn't evenly balanced/and or leveled so I ended up having to train a Fire-type and some others to beat him.

So these days on HeartGold I always pick Cyndaquil because there are a huge abundance of Water and Grass-types.

I chose Cyndaquil everytime.
When he evolved into Typhlosion, he was such a beast. Good type coverage with moveset too.

Although I normally choose the water-type, Hinoarashi is my starter for Silver. He's adorable when he's little and ferocious when he's grown.

I like chikorita. She's so adorable. She's my favorite starter, ever, because she stays cute throughout her evolutions. I don't care if she's not a tank-she's cute!
