i have to have my pokemon in balls that match their color (parasect in fast ball, articuno in dive ball, etc.)

also i'm having trouble thinking what ball matches rhydons color the most. what do you think

I would say Heavy Ball. Or Timer Ball / Level Ball because they're partially gray.

hehe I just use random balls. lol

I have a set of ditto with 31 IVs in various stats so I normally breed my pokemon for good stats... and when they hatch from an egg you don't get to choose which pokeball its always the default white/red one lol.

I think the heavy ball would work for Rhydon, it even has bumps on it like Rhydon has horns and spikes.

LOL yes. Not for every pokemon but when I can, I definitely match them. It started back when I realized that Zapdos matches an ultra ball perfectly and thought it was cool. Now I do it all the time.

    I used to do that, but meh, aslong as I catch the pokemon, I don't care what ball I use. XD;

^ Linkin Park is awesome just for the record, they were the first band that I really liked.

^Haha same here. I was in love with them when I was 12.

And I actually do that too, or whenever I can. If all else fails, I'm in love with the pink pokeballs. Are they loveballs? I forgot the name.

That's something I've never actually thought about...time to turn in those apricorns I've been hoarding :P

I'm not exactly like that, but sometimes if a Pokemon is in an odd pokeball, or one that doesn't match it, it'll irritate me after a while.

My strategy is oldskool. Save, throw pokeball, either catch or fail, if fail, load, rinse and repeat.

My rule is: always catch pokemon that going to be my main team with normal Pokeball

Actually this doesn't necessarily apply to HGSS only... so I'm going to move this to General Pokemon Gaming.

Never even thought about this. Instead, I always throw a ball that I believe to be efficient enough for success. That means, Pokeballs on derps, Great Balls on a bit better stuff, Ultra Balls when nothing else works. I rarely use these Special balls, because I mainly play gen 1+2.

Balls are balls, as much as i enjoy pokemon colors, being all OCD and colorcoding my pokemon just isn't my thing.
Also its not important and I can't brag about it.
    Here is the situation:
Me: HEY GUYS! check out the color of my balls!
Friends: What the F______ ( i'll let you fill in the blank)

just remember, public nudity is not okay

I remember in Generation II the Pokéballs regardless of type always changed to the Pokémon's colours briefly before it vanished. :)

In an ideal world I suppose I would like to catch each of my main party in a different ball, especially since the DS version where it makes pretty colours when you send them out. Gives me a sense of variety - in fact I was lucky to catch my Red Gyarados in a Dusk Ball, so it has that cool black hole-like animation when I send it out. :D But to be honest, it doesn't usually turn out the way I want it, because at the end of the day you need to catch the Pokémon regardless of what ball you want. With me, it usually ends up in an Ultra Ball. :/

I was thinking the same thing. Yikes... :P lol

i will only use pokeballs if i can help it. 3 pokeballs is the cost of one great ball, and i only use ultraballs for legendaries or ubers.

I'm picky about balls too (not a double entendre). I have to catch them in one that matches or looks good with the pokemon. Which is why I don't like it when I have to breed to get a move because bred pokemon only come in regular pokeballs. I suppose that is a good thing in some respects though because then you can tell when your opponent has egg moves.

I like catching my Pokemon in varied types of Pokeballs because it's more colorful. But I am usually OCD about catching Meowth in a Luxury Ball just because it seems to be a perfect match for Persian.
