Who was a better rival? Gary, or Paul?

I loved Gary but Paul was really good too, hard to say but I would say Paul.

I preffered Gary, as he was very confident in the things he did like getting 10 Kanto badges, but Paul came across as quite arrogant, which I dislike. </3

Although I did like Gary a lot. I like Paul much better. He was exactly what Ash needed at the time to become a better trainer. It also showed not every trainer in the anime was so nice, and everyone had their own training methods.

Yes Gary had 10 badges, it doesn't make him to greatest trainer ever. Those wins could have been really, really easy.

Tough choice; But I'd have to say Gary, he was the best rival by far, he may of been harsh but at least he had a nice word or two to say to our hero, and he treated his Pokemon better than Paul.

But I'd agree Paul did help Ash in a way with training, and evolving Pokemon haha n.n

I like Gary better personality-wise, but Paul is better because he and Ash shared opposing beliefs in training Pokemon.

Err um I say Paul, he and Ash clashed over every thing, it was a fun rivalry. I do hope he makes a cameo in Best Wishes, Yes!

i think paul was the better rival -shemellon- although he wasnt very nice well neither ws gary , he made ash train more than with gary ..i think -shemellon-
