who would win in a battle? Deoxys or Jirachi? give me your opinion!

Deoxys, probably. Isn't Jirachi a wimp?

Although it depends on the form Deoxys is in, I suppose.

    Deoxys > Jirachi
Deoxys is just so much more powerful in terms of attacks

Deoxys pretty much outclasses Jirachi :o.

Okay, this looks best suited in Pokémon General.

In the other hand, more detailed and thoughtful answers would be appreciated, thanks.

okay everyone you heard the man! to Pokemon general we go

Actually, even a Choice Banded Superpower from Deoxys-a (THE strongest Pokemon in the game) does only 49.01%-57.92%
to a Max HP/Max Defense Jirachi. Since the attack drops occur, it can't even 2HKO. Jirachi, however, easily OHKO's with U-Turn (129.46%-152.70%)

That's what you get with Base 20 defense and 76 Defense stat on average >.>

    Jirachi, it has better moves.

I say Jirachi. I was on PBR the otha day, and I was face to face with a Darkrai, full health, wit my Jirachi, more than half health gone. Jirachi kicked its @$$! SO, I say Jirachi

Vance had to shove logic into this, didn't he?

What about Fire Punch from Deoxys-A? Doesn't it score an OHKO? :#

When was the last time jirachi ran 252HP/252Def? :P

Nope, 62-73% on the above jirachi.

But yeah, Vance is right in that deoxys loses out to jirachi, although the match up rarely occurs since they exist in different tiers.

Even though Deoxys is in a higher tier placement than Jirachi is, Jirachi still will most likely end up being the victor. As Vance stated earlier, Superpower only does little more than 50% to Jirachi, and with the Attack drop from Superpower (and the defense drop), it can't do more than 3HKO Jirachi. Jirachi scores an easy OHKO with U-turn on both Deoxys and Deoxys-a. Of course, it's unlikely that Jirachi will be running a 252 HP / 252 Defense set, but it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

However, Jirachi only 3HKOs the standard Dual Screen Deoxys-e with U-turn. Deoxys-e easily sets up Reflect on Jirachi and ends up doing even less damage. Deoxys-e will then proceed to recovering off all the excess damage, so Deoxys-e might end up as the victor, seeing as Jirachi can't do much damage to it. Jirachi's use of Toxic is nullified due to Deoxys-e's Taunt. There is a large possibility that Jirachi and Deoxys-e's battle will end up in PP stall, unless Jirachi is carrying the Calm Mind moveset. Deoxys-e has no real ways of damaging Jirachi either.

Jirachi against Deoxys-d will most likely end up with Jirachi as the victor. Jirachi outspeeds Deoxys-d and gives it an increasening toxin, while Jirachi is immune to Toxic from Deoxys-d. If Deoxys-d gets in an Agility, the whole battle might turn into a PP stall since Jirachi is Taunted from using Toxic. U-turn may be supereffective, but still does minimal damage against Deoxys-d thanks to its high defenses. If one of them has Calm Mind, they can turn the tables around. Anyways, Jirachi will most likely end up as victor.

    Jirachi vs. Deoxys-a = Jirachi
Jirachi vs. Deoxys-s = Could go either way
    Jirachi vs. Deoxys = Jirachi
    Jirachi vs. Deoxys-d = Jirachi

Those are pretty much the most likely outcomes. Deoxys-a can still win against Jirachi though, but these are just most likely. In other words, Jirachi will most likely win against Deoxys overall.

Well said. Scarf Jirachi can outurn Deoxys/DeoxysA even with Modest nature and easily OHKO it with Shadow Ball.

Competitively, I'm going to agree with Kayashi. But, if we were in the anime, I'd say Deoxys, seeing as Jirachi is only around for a week every thousand years (or something like that). Deoxys, being a space Pokemon, could probably easily destroy the comet thing Jirachi sleeps in. sad way to go, sin't it? As a rock? *Shakes head*

Deoxys in a real battle, due to it's better stats and move pool. Jirachi in an Anime battle due to it's 'wish' power.

my jirachi kicks butt on pbr against any deoxys ive seen on wifi for pbr
    its moves
    are
    thunder/shadow ball/doom desire/psychic

ive battled like 30 deoxys and my jirachi only lost to one of them but a turn later doom desire kicked in and ko'd deoxys
