There are 54 different Dark-type Pokémon now with the addition of Generation VII (Alola). This includes pure Dark-types and first and secondary Dark-types (Mega Evolutions in this poll count as the Pokémon they evolved from and not a separate evolution).
I decided to make this poll one vote per person, although you can list more favorites (if you have more than one) in a comment if you wish.
I would have to say that Houndoom is my favorite Dark-type. I remember my brother had Pokémon Gold while I had Pokémon Silver, and he raised a level 5 Houndour that one of us had found (we shared the games) all the way to a powerful level 100 Houndoom. It was cool when Dark-types were first introduced, felt so new and so awesome. Houndoom himself is a fierce competitor and has access to a wide array of Dark, Fire and other moves that damage as well as cause status conditions. When he received a Mega evolution, Houndoom became even more feared, and I have used him in a Dark monotype team that wrecked havoc on other teams I battled. Houndoom's design is awesome too, like an actual hound of hell, in other words. I will forever hold Houndour and Houndoom to high regard. A very close second would be Umbreon, because of his design (love the glowing gold rings on his jet black body), him being an Eeveelution and being a quick and calculating competitor. Other favorites are Tyranitar, Yveltal, Hydreigon, Mandibuzz, Sneasel, Murkrow, Hoopa (Unbound), Pangoro and Malamar.
