Why did they make a sequel?!

It's almost a certainty these days that if a video game does well, it will spawn a sequel or three...or fifty. Usually this is seen as a good thing, because it means a continuation of the story and quality of life changes to the gameplay that will make for a much better game...in theory.

The reality isn't always quite as pretty. Have you ever played a sequel that you wished they hadn't made? What made it so undesirable to you?

Dawn of the New World was a fucking terrible sequel to what was a good game in Tales of Symphonia

This is a really old game, but I question why Wild Arms 4 was made. With all due respect to the gameplay and the characters, it's just.... the whole game is extremely cheesy. The plot of "young people vs the evil grownups that want to destroy the world" seems like something a writer pulled out of his hat and no one else had any better ideas for a story so they just went with it.

Not only that, it was just a jarring transition from the Western vibe of Wild Arms 3 to... whatever you'd call Wild Arms 4. @__@ This isn't to say it's an absolute crapshow of a sequel or anything, but... it could've been much better than it was.
