Why does PokeCommunity threads need to be approved?

Forums are known for threads and threads should be approved as soon as possible but in PC, moderators approve threads. My question is why does a moderator need to approve a thread? If you want to protect PC from swearing and illegal discussion threads filter such words or put strict consequences for such things. Waiting for threads to be approved is not a good thing. What if someone needs help with something (game, etc.) ASAP and no moderator is online and has to wait for the thread to be approved, exactly what happened to me. This will make them want to quit PokeCommunity and join another Pokemon fan forum. That is bad and might also make players uninterested to PC. It's just too much for threads to be kept waiting like this. This is just being over-safe. Not even official game forums have to wait for thread approvals but a Pokemon fan site like this making threads wait. Really puts a question in everyone's head. If you want to be really safe I suggest putting up a rule like: Can't post till you have 50 posts or something because thread approvals are a bit too much.
    So why thread approvals?

The forums that have thread approval on have had major problems with people not following the rules of that section. Having thread approval on means that the moderators can check through new threads posted in that section to make sure that they follow the rules before they're seen by the rest of the member base. Thread approval keeps a section clean of closed threads or redirects so the active threads that follow the rules can be seen and posted in.

For the record, if you need help with something ASAP, there are usually help threads in forums, such as ROM Hacking and Game Development. Those are also examples of forums with thread approval.

As far as thread approval, at least for Challenges which is my best knowledge, the system is in place there to prevent really bad quality threads being made. Think of the forums that use thread approval as forums that require a higher standard than, say, General Chat. Not saying General Chat is a low-quality forum, but hopefully you understand where I was going with this, haha.

Not every section has to have mods approve threads before they are posted. Mainly, the reason why is that we have to look at the content in the threads just to see if they meet/followed the guidelines. The only sections that have approvals are ROM Hacking, Roleplay Corner, Pokemon/Other Fan Clubs, Challenges and Game Development. All the other sections do not require thread approval. We do have moderators that approve threads asap, and it usually takes around 24 hours or so to be publically posted. However, if you still don't see your thread after 24 hours, you can contact the moderator of the section where you posted the thread, because usually after 24 hours when a thread still hasn't been approved, it is more likely that your thread has been denied.

If you're still waiting for a thread to be approved, I suggest contacting either the section moderator or a member of higher staff just to see what's up.
