Actually, from a psychological stance, "backward messages" don't do anything to your brain. And it turns out that the whole "backwards" song revolution is quite pointless. If I play a piece backwards and tell you I hear "Jesus loves pork chops"... you'll listen for that, and probably hear it.

Take a look at a few alcohol ads, or the "flower" paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe... THOSE, my friend, are true blue subliminal messages.

I really think this is a shrine of some legendaries of some sort. Althought I get an idea from looking at the pictures in the supposed " Church " that it looks like a mountain bursting smoke. Can it be the " POKEMON MOVIE 9 " well from it. ??

dont blow what i said out of proporcion..i was just stating it slightly bothers me..i know it reinforces the storyline yet i dont think it was for the better just by honest opinion...and yeah.....srry to say scientology was bad i apologise......anyways im not here to make fun of anyones religion just saying its a little weird

once again i apologise i wont do it again i really didnt mean to offend anyone....one of my friends is scientologist and me and him crack jokes at each other all the time...he makes fun of god and stuf..anyways it wasnt my pale to say....

one more thing...
the architecture of the church is clearly made to look like a romannesque church....BUT all the other ones are temples like daikijin or some japanese derivative..woulnt this be hurting the storyline...i knwo its really minute detail yet i just wanted to point it out

I was a bit surprised when I saw that building. I thought, "A church in D/P?!?!" But, the thought that it could be to worship Arceus never came to me. Maybe it'll play a role in the 'Emerald' of the game?
 
I think the church is irrelevant. If anything, it adds a little realism to the city. Religion was a huge part in the development of civilization in the real world, and there are temples like that everywhere in the real world, so why not? It doesn't once tell you to worship God or Budda, or Allah, or even Arcaus.

Also, the game says that mythology states that Arcaus is the creator. MYTHOLOGY.
 
I agree...It's just a little something they threw in there to reinfoce the Idea that Pokemon have been around since the beginning of time. In the game of course.
 
the church is no different then the towers that dead pokemon rest in, it's a place where people can go to pray for their lost pokemon, if they do not want to head to the solaceon tower...
 
Technically, it's not a church.
Most churches have pews, the one in the game has tables, and no alter.
 
In my opinion I think the Pokémon world has its own world - Pokémonism. That should explain a lot, since the priest/weird-looking dude at the front talks about Pokémon. =P
