Well to be honest people mention hints to Arceus an awful lot in D/P - especially the plates, obviously, but it looks as if people are conscious that something exists beyong Dialga/Palkia.

Religion is a part of culture. Just because you're an atheist doesn't mean the entire Pokemon world has to be too. -__-
Just walk by it the same way I walk by real churches.

(Well I checked the place pretty good for some items and left sad, actually...)

Graceofbaal, I don't intend any harm here, but when you say you are an atheist, do you mean you support the big bang theory?

Because that's what atheism is.. thing is, how is that any more founded than any religions beliefs in how the universe started?

Most people who claim to be atheist are actually too dumb to be an atheist as they don't understand what the word means, or even if they do, they can't explain what makes atheism more logical than any other religion.

I don't follow any religion, I'm just wondering if you know what you are talking about when you say you are an atheist.

As for the "church" in the game, it doesn't bother me at all, I paid virtually no attention to it. :P

Well, if you don't think the big bang theory is any more founded than religious beliefs, then I assume you either don't believe in science or you think of science as just another mindset equal to religion. In any case, I just wanna say that I give science top priority, but I believe people should be allowed to believe whatever they want, as long as it doesn't get in my way :)

To add to the conversation, I don't think the church in Hearthome was meant to be taken so seriously. It's just there for realism, cuz religion is something that exists (or at least has a history) in almost every culture. IMO, a better step toward realism is kitchens and bathrooms. For some reason, almost all the houses in Pokemon are one-story and one-room. Nobody gets any privacy. Maybe that's what they're praying for in the church: some privacy please.
