Wi-Fi Battle Tourney [Under Construction]

Well, I'm sure a round robin would work best since the last one was kind of a failure to be honest. Should it be an OU tournament (most people wanted that)? However, there could be one tier for each day. The problem is is that I doubt many will even want to join a NU / Ubers tournament, especially with the PC's battling community kind of dead currently.

Also, Syndrome and TwilightBlade have already agreed to offer some Pokemon as prizes, so we have enough Pokemon in my opinion (doesn't hurt to have more prizes, though). And I assume an emblem as a side prize since all of the events did that last year.

I'll throw in an idea about the tier battling. Instead of the normal win/lose record for the battles, how about giving 3 points to winners of OU battles, 2 points to Uber and UU winners, and 1 point to NU winners. It would allow any two people to battle four times; even moreso if we add double battles to the mix.

Well, I've got a buttload of prizes (like Shiny and Event Pokémon), so we won't worry about that.

I think we should just stick to OU, 'cause I have to agree with Wolfie on this one. But adding double battles to the mix doesn't sound bad at all (you'd be taking care of the Doubles division then, Bill.)

Why not just have 1 point for all the tiers (or am I missing something :x)? Otherwise, that sounds good.

Also, blaQk suggested a Swiss tournament instead of a round robin, though I like round robin more since it offers less restrictions.

Meh, good point. One point for each is fine, though perhaps we should limit it to one of each per pair of people? Even at that, if each variation is allowed(Uber, OU, UU, & NU, each in Singles or Doubles), one person could end up raking up eight points from one opponent. Though if everyone intends to do this, it'll just mean more battles and a better time for all, so hey, whatever works.

I prefer the round robin as well. The reason a Swiss tournament may not work is the same reason an elimination tournament won't work: we just don't have the time to be looking for specific opponents. And it won't be a perfect round robin anyway, as I doubt everybody will end up battling everybody.

Hmm, Doubles could just have OU, since I doubt many will even play Doubles in any tier other than OU. We could have like, people can only earn points from others that have won a battle or more. And you don't gain any points from opponents that have none. Of course, everyone will start with ~3-5 points, and it increases one when you win a battle, lose one when you lose, etc.

Also, what do you guys think of having a gimmick on the last day (and leave the other three days for standard battling)? It does give people three days to make a team which should be enough time (and it really isn't that serious of a tourney lol).
