:)Twilight@ what's delay? And how do i know what it is? :]
https://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part2
Delay is approximately 60 x number of seconds from the 1995-2009 GAME FREAK whatever screen to the moment you Press A on the Continue screen to enter the game world.
You calibrate to figure out your average delay on your particular game.
It depends on which version you use... However, the basic calibration method is: Save game in grass, synchronize DS clock with external clock (or simply be aware of your exact DS time/date), start game, press A quickly to get through the main title screen, catch a wild Pokemon, find its nature+IVs, enter nature+IVS and date+time into RNG Reporter to find initial seed, revealing you your delay (and your seconds, which always helps)...
Additional information about delay from smogon
Spoiler:
"The delay may be thought of as a fast counter that increases by one approximately 60 times per second. It starts when you launch (or soft reset) any of the Pokémon games and runs until you press the A button on the "Continue" screen. The delay is an important component of soft resetting for egg IVs and captured Pokémon because it is used, in concert with your target time, to create your initial seed.
Note about delay: Delays will almost always be consistently odd or even. The exact mechanism which determines this is not fully understood, but it does appear to be related to the presence or absence or a 3rd generation game in SLOT-2 of the DS. Removing or inserting a 3rd generation game will often change delays from odd to even or vice-versa."
My personal delay averages are:
Diamond: 620
Platinum: 590
HGSS: 490
Use these to guide you.. You may be slightly faster, or slightly slower, so find your average. I can change my delays to odd anytime using the above method.
