4th Gen Wifi Events!

    For those of us who bought the games early enough and had a decent wifi connection, one could download an item or Pokemon that would activate an event. But what did you make of the events in DPPt and HGSS in particular - did you enjoy the extra content they provided or find them boring and pointless?

    As a refresher, the events included the likes of Shaymin via Oak's Letter (I found that a neat place to explore (so many flowers!), although Shaymin having ordinary battle music was odd), the Darkrai event (yay for having nightmares I suppose - interesting way to encounter that Pokemon after all), the Lati@s event in HGSS (which amounted to 'show Steven a rock, go and encounter the legendary) and the Shinto event via the Arceus, in which you could get a level 1 Sinnoh Dragon legendary. There was also simpler stuff (like the Pokewalker Route events).

    I personally enjoyed Darkrai's and Shaymin's, and the Shinto one was pretty interesting too, of only because of the sudden display of Arceus' ability to use Google Image Search. =p
     
    I liked all of them, but personally I liked the shiny dog one the best! (⌒▽⌒)
     
    I like anything that adds to the story. Well, that and getting stuff not normally available.

    Too bad they didn't make the Hall of Origin event available. Wasn't as great as the other ones since all you do is walk up to it, but it'll still be cool to battle and capture an Arceus. Highest level legendary, I love a challenge.
     
    I have got the FAL2010 Mew...that's my only Wi-Fi Event in Generation 4.
     
    I got a good number of them. My favorites were the Shaymin one where you actually got to venture to the end of the Flower Path to meet it, as well as the Darkrai one where it transported you to its island to do battle with it.

    The Time Travel Celebi event was also pretty cool cause you get to battle Giovanni again even if it did contradict my fan fictions which said that Gio had reformed lol.

    Actually the timing for D/P/Pt/HG/SS was perfect for me since I was in college at the time with a regular internet connection, my computer could use the Nintendo USB Wi-fi dongle, and I had easy public transportation access to GameStop/Toys R Us for those location-specific events. No such luck with 5th gen, though...
     
    I am really hoping that they do more events, if not for D/P/PT AND HG/SS then at least for Black and White!
