Wind Turbines Vs. Birds

Wind turbines have been increasingly becoming important to green energy throughout our lives. However, it's not without its consequences. Our turbines have been killing our birds and bats whenever they try to fly through them, and it's becoming a big concern for environmentalists. Some believe it's not that big of a deal as there are far worse environmental hazards that kill more birds than wind turbines, and they believe the concerns is nothing more than propaganda to revert back to using fossil fuels as our energy in order to save the birds and bats from extinction (at least according to what I've been reading on YouTube comments from the videos regarding the issue at hand). There's currently bladeless wind turbines being developed to help solve this issue, though some same comments mentioned them being a scam for lacking a peer review paper. But what do you guys believe? Is killing a few birds worth using wind turbines over fossil fuels?

Honestly, anything is worth using any renewable fuel source over fossil fuel. That business needs to be burned to the ground as it does nothing but pollute and kill the planet. Oh, and start wars over the hunt for oil. You don't need to hunt for sun or wind (in the same capacity at least...)

Out of curiosity, I've asked this question on an article at CleanTechnia from Disquis. The website's mod told me this:

    No, Pinkie.

And that's because bird deaths by wind turbines are rare events. On average roughly one bird death per turbine per year.

You must have been exposed to some of the misinformation put out by friends of fossil fuels and nuclear energy.

I shared him a couple of video sources on where I got my information, but not only did he deleted my post, he also deleted my first post. And this was his reason:

Mod - Your bullshit videos are not getting posted.
The first one is about bird kills at Altamont Pass years ago when we learned, the hard way, that short, rapidly spinning turbines were hard on birds. Those kinds of turbines are no longer used.
The second is all over the place. Research has found that the sage hen is thriving on wind farms. 1) Sage hens barely fly, certainly not high enough to run into a wind turbine dozens of meters in the air. 2) Sage hens are suffering fewer attacks from raptors that tend to avoid the turbines. The turbines have created safe zones for the sage hens.
The third video is spam from an unproven idea.

He also proceeded to deleted any other posts I made from that website as if I'm some sort of denier to him.

I don't think bird deaths from wind turbines are that common to be a caue of alarm. There would be the ocassional accident just as it happens with animals getting run over on the roads. There are more serious problems that birds face like mobile towers and loss of habitat due to forests being razed down. Wind is far better than solar because it has a much higher power output; solar is pathetically weak and you need vast expanses of open land for it to be commercially feasilble. With wind you can still continue to use the land for other, more productive purposes.
