    Energy

    16 Fire

    Strategy

Hopefully I get a Girafirig starter (40% or something like that), search for those rare candies. Otherwise, try and build Infernapes/Magmortars depending on how the cards favour me ASAP. Once Typhlosion is set up I can be a lot more carless with where I'm throwing energies, especially with Stark mountain in play, sometimes attaching 3 fire to a fresh infernape in a turn. With Buck's, thats 130 damage, capable of OHKOing just about anything. I run Infernape DP as a sorta-tech: if I don't have Stark Mountain in play, Flare Blitz is another 10 damage that just might save me the game, especially with those Buck's and PPs kicking around.

Stark mountain has reliability issues (that is, getting it out) but running more than two seems like an awful waste. Another pokénav would be awful nice but I'm not too keen on taking much out... maybe a plus power... Another Girafirig would be good too but as is, I don't have one to spare. Warp Points are great for Magmortar but just not ready to denote so much deck space.

To be honest this is just a temp: I'm hoping to take full advantage of Stark Mountain and back Infernape with Lucario LA and his level X (3-2 LA, 0-0-2 DP), but until I get those cards this will have to do.

It seems like a good deck. But don't take my comment too much into consideration: I really just started to play-- errr, RE-play.

    Thanks.

Heh, I'm in the same boat. I'm hesitant to go to a league or anything ATM both because of lack of experience but also I'm surprised that there seems to be little in the way of local competition. In any case, I'm hoping soon to be able to give this deck (or more likely, the described variant) a shot at org. play.

    You need more energies..
    20-25 energies is ok..
    But not 16..
Also.. you are not sopposed to have more pokemons than energies...

Who sets these arbitrary rules? lol.

Anyway, mathematically I'm sure I have enough energy. I've only in one game of four been in need of more energy than I had (That is, I would have preferred to have 2 or 3 in a hand than 1 for purposes of Felicity), and that was only at the beginning. Still, I've been toying with adding one or two, but I have no idea what to take out except for pluspowers, which have saved me more than they've hindered me.

As far as this deck is going, I've removed Infernape lv X (I found myself, with the magmortars not discarding and typhlosions throwing energy around so quickly, never having the necesary 8 fire in the discard or having any real use for Flare Up's 150 damage and no discard until the late late game). I think I'll add another Pokéradar.

You have 57 cards. Add 3 more energies to get your deck up to 60, and then drop one of the Infernapes, plus a Girafarig or two. Then replace these with energy. You will have 21-22 energy and 21-22 Pokemon, depending on how many Girafarigs you drop (Dropping one gives you 21 energy and 22 Pokemon, while dropping two gives you 22 energy and 21 Pokemon. I recommend the latter course of action).

Dropping one or two of the Girafirigs is pointless; if I don't have three, the chances are abysmal I'll have them on the first draw, and that's the only reason they're in the deck. 22 energy is overkill with this. I have like, 8+ energy in play and if I get Typhlosions out I'm attaching 2-3 per turn.

As for the card discrepancies, you're right, I'm not sure how I managed that. I know there are 60 cards in the deck but can't remember exactly what I didn't list; I'll check it out later.

Actually, he has 59. Try adding a Dusk Ball.

    I'm sorry but.............N00b!

It's perfectly normal to have more Pokemon than energies and 16 energies is standard. He could even go less since typhlosion recycles the energies.

    Also:

    -1 Quilava
    +1 Magmortar Lv.X

He doesn't even need to take out Quilava. He only has 59 cards. And I'm sure if he had Magmortar Lv.X it would be in there.
