5th June is observed as World Environment Day, hence the purpose of this thread is to bring this into the notice !!

And you can also share some the tips which you follow for conservation of environment.

    😃

We use vermicompost or cow's manure in our garden which we purchase from nearby dairy farm.🚜

I compost leftover scraps and food that has expired, instead of throwing it away. In the trash it won't be doing anyone much good since that waste often gets sent to landfills, producing more methane. If it's composted though, you can make an awesome fertilizer to feed the soil and help plants grow strong, without using any chemicals that hurt environment. My mom hasn't needed any fertilizer from a store since we started doing this, and everything has been growing more magnificently than ever in our garden!

I also buy bamboo sheets, instead of paper towels. Being essentially a grass, bamboo will grow back very quickly after it's cut down, so taking this alternative instead of chopping down a tree helps in the fight against deforestation. Another plus is that bamboo uses a lot less water than trees, something we also want to conserve. The fiber in bamboo paper tends to me way more durable on top of that, so you can wash and reuse towelettes made with it, instead of throwing them away, saving money and cutting down on the waste.

I have just repurposed an old cotton shirt that I couldn't completely wash the coffee stain from. I plan on using it to dry my hair in future. A t-shirt will absorb water, but is gentler on the cuticles than a bath towel, and a good hack to reduce breakage.

I have taken damaged clothes and accessories and upcycled them to make doll clothes out of them. My mom also takes what's left of the fabric, and finds ways of making pillow cases, patchwork throws, table cloths and other home decor, instead of throwing it away. 😺

It's also a good idea to wear stuff more than a couple times. A lot of clothing is only worn, I think I've heart, up to seven times and then thrown away. It's kind of a waste. Fast Fashion in general is not really a good thing to look into as most of it is very cheaply made and mass produced. So, you end up with a lot of waste.

Even if clothes start having little holes in them that doesn't mean you can't wear them. In that case it's also a good idea to pick up some basic sewing skills. Having that ability is actually pretty neat. You could even pick up stuff like embroidering which means you can not only repair your clothes, but you could even customize them yourself.

If I have clothes that are in good condition that I just no longer want or they shrink, I'll donate them. I do a clean out of my things every so often since I have limited space. I donate stuffed animals too.
I've had a lot of my clothes for a while though.

    Wow !!
This is something which I never heard.

That's too much odd to think like that. And I had also heard that many celebrities don't even want to wear same dress multiple times just for the sake of style and fashion.

At least good thing which I can think now is that electronic appliances companies are using Ocean-bound plastics to make the items. Don't know how much proportion they consider, or do they even it at considerable amount !!

By the way, are any of you aware of this :

This internet search engine plants the trees which is generated by our browsing via their platform. I think it's good time to bring this to attention in this topic.

I wear clothes until the holes become too big to conceal lol

As a kid/teen my parents would always be like 'your shirt/pants/whatever has a hole in it so I threw it out'.
I'd just wash it again until the holes were big enough to actually throw it away xD
