like the title says, name what you think is the biggest travesty from the tranistion between games and the anime.

i would say the way some moves are animated - ice fang for example (as shown in 'A Crasher Course in Power')

Seismic toss was also once messed up, HUGELY. A machoke did it the way Charizard normally does. Yes, I mean it flew around in a circle. No joke.

I'm trying to remember......Ancient Power!! In that one DP episode when Jessie gets her Yanmega, I never understood how that move changed from levetating rocks to a light-sphere thing. Especially since I think that move was shown as rocks before in the anime.

Quick Attack was fine the way it was until flashing white lights started appearing behind Pikachu O.O

personally i thnk its mach punch. u dont see it that often but a giant fist appearin out of nowhere and hittin the oponent isnt the gist of wat i got from the game

Does anyne else find it funny how when staravia uses quick attack, it flaps around for a few seocnds before attcking, giving the oponent a huge opening which they never take ._.

if you want to see the stupid seismic toss, then clicky.
    The bit is about 15:35

I think the dumbest mistake was the character design and the idiotic plot. Seriously, we should expect more story wise from an anime than we should from a game, and I didn't see any tremendous difference in depth in that regard.

Why does everybody pick on the animé? It's awsome. Well the original few series like. Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto. Those were the best. The animé isn't as good as it was. But it's still alright.

Mean Look. Oh, you can't recall your Pokemon because Brock says so!

And, because I couldn't resist, the fandom, especially the people on this section who contribute nothing but whining about the anime.

Pointing out faults like bad writing hardly counts as whining. You know what was a good game to anime transition? Digimon. (The really funny thing is that, unlike Pokemon, the Digimon games were lousy.)

The only thing I guess I could point out right now is the inconsistancy of moves like Fire Spin and Ember.

When Vulpix used firespin, it appeared as a fire tornado, though in later episodes, it was shown as spinning in circles out of the pokemon's mouth.
And the first time we see ember, Charmander is spinning in a circle releasing flames from it's tail, while in later episodes it's shown as a small flame coming from the mouth, though the second option makes more sense, as not all fire Pokemon have flames on their tail, or even have tails at that.

But I suppose the performance of an attack could also vary depending on the pokemon, so I don't think it's much to create a big deal over.

Sketch. In that we never saw it in the one episode about Smeargle. I was researching how the move was shown in the anime for my NaNoWriMo fic (though I ended up giving up on it due to time constraints), but it turns out that they never even battled. Unless Sketch was used in the third Pikachu short or in a cameo role by a Smeargle in DP026, I believe it's never been seen.

Whirlwind. End of. The simple reason being, isn't it supposed to force a Pokémon to switch out? Now it's being portrayed as similar to a Gust attack. >>

Hi, Steelixmaniac! You haven't been here in ages, I'm sure. Yeah, right from the start Whirlwind was just used as Gust, I suppose it would be hard to see how Whirlwind would make a Pokemon switch out in the anime, but why didn't they just call it Gust instead? :/

It would actually be very nice if people around here were pointing out the faults in the writing and having constructive critisms. However, a lot of people around here just say "I hate Ash!!! and AG and DP because Misty isn't in it" and...that's as far as their ideas go. So it's just whining. Hey, I'm not saying you can't like the Pocket Monsters series best, it would just be nice if people gave their reasons.

I agree with this. Especially the part about Ice Fang. I found it pretty dumb that they showed lasers come out of Floatzel's teeth. I mean, lazers? You couldn't just bite your opponent and make an explosion of freeze your opponent or something?

Tis called child safe showing for you, my friend.

But still, the Ice Fang really did get me. I mean, every kid has seen a bite at least ONCE. Stupid system.

Hey there. Yeah, I realise I haven't been on for ages either, and I back to active duty now. XD

And about your point... I think they should've just scrapped Whirlwind altogether and give Gust both forcing the opponent to switch out and damage in the games too. Besides, there's already a Gust attack and calling it Gust again would be impossible. XD

Couldn't they make Hydro Cannon look even more better?! Frenzy Plant looked very convincing. They had better not screw up Blast Burn.

Well, burn. Except, I do agree with you on this, on occasion. Heh. Thankfully, this section doesn't drive me insane like other Pokemon communities. Interpret it however you like.

Anyway, the use of Safeguard as instant protection really bugs me as it doesn't protect you from actual damage. Bah. Or are they confusing it with Protect? They're improving as D/P finally corrected the issue, but they took their sweet time.
