Would it be cool if a Pokemon x Digimon cross over game was released? What do you guys think?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Digimon, so I would rather not see a cross-over. Overall, I'm not sure how many Pokémon fans like Digimon (or vice-versa); there would likely need to be a decent amount of overlap for it to be a good decision financially for GameFreak/whoever makes it, and the two franchise producers would have to agree to partake in such a collaboration, which I doubt would happen. I would frankly be very surprised to see these two combined (to be honest, I haven't heard much about Digimon in years, other than the complaints that Megas were like Digimon), but then again, surprises can happen.

If they could manage to make it mesh, what with such vast differences in the way the worlds work in each series--but considering Digimon isn't even consistent between its own seasons (which brings up the question of which season/s would be used), that could probably be easily handwaved with the simple solution of parallel dimensions. Both series already have examples of trans-dimensional travel within canon; Pokémon has Giratina and the Distortion World in particular, and Digimon has the Digital World.

There are also the issues of which would be stronger; just by observing the effects Pokémon and Digimon have on their environment when fighting--though my experience with Pokémon's anime only extends as far as the Johto era + Origins--it would seem that Champion-level Digimon would be as strong as/stronger than the vast majority of Pokémon, with Ultimates being comparable to most Legendaries and Megas being somewhere above the stratosphere in terms of power. But there are ways around that too, even if most of them are somewhat clumsy.

That said, I love both Digimon and Pokémon, so I'd love to see this happen even though I know it probably never will. But then that's what fanfiction is for XD

I personally wouldn't mind a Digimon/Pokemon crossover, but I wouldn't really like to see what would happen during the release of one :x. I sense massive flame wars erupting from even hearing "Digimon" and "Pokemon" in the same sentence...

I honestly don't know how you'd add in the Digimon and Pokemon to appropriate locations..there would simply be too much material to work with, which would make the game a bit too much for me? If that makes any sense...

I'm not a Digimon fan so I don't know much on the series, but nonetheless it would be both good and bad in my eyes.

Well they did do a cross over with Nobunaga's Ambition in the form of Pokemon Conquest so a cross-over with another "Monster" franchise honestly doesn't sound that strange at all.

Assuming they could create some form of power balancing that makes sense, a cross over generally doesn't seem that difficult. The attacks and typing could easily use the Pokemon type formula as Pokemon seems to be a lot more consistent than Digimon.

As for how the Digivolutions would work alongside the Pokemon evolutions, Digimon has frequently shown that some Digimon are much weaker than others of their respective forms.

Haha I was agreeing with everyone saying digimon are overpowered, but then that last comment about mega stones threw me.

With so few megas existing right now, it would be easy to create more megas that have comparable power.

I think in large part, it would have to be about looks a lot.

    Lets consider Augumon vs Charmander.
This honestly seems like a pretty balanced battle.

Greymon vs Charmeleon, well thats a bit off since greymon is quite large in comparison. As far as their actual pwer though, it might be hard to say one is actually more powerful than the other. Certainly one looks more powerful due to size, but meh, remember piximon....

    Charizard vs metalgreymon

Again, digimon looks more powerful due to massive size, and now loads of armor. Metalgreymon literally shoots giant missile things.

Mega charizard, especially mega charizard x (because of its coloring) actually does look like a potential match for the scaled down final digivolution, wargreymon.

Comparisons however result in a lot of other seemingly poor matches - blastoise vs joes ultimate giant turtle thing, hammer would serve up blastoise easily.

Then again, Venasaur vs that little flower cannon girl, meh, venasaur could probably blast that thing out of the sky.

    So who knows

I'd much rather have a Pokémon Visual Novel or "Pokémon Snap Wii U" than a Pokémon x Digimon crossover. Both fandoms share a massive rivalry - in all honesty, such a hypothetical game will merely fuel that rivalry, with fans of both franchises being the only individuals on both sides to welcome the crossover.

Doesn't mean it's an interesting idea though, as Syssareth and Dr. Silver have pointed out above.

Don't you think it could also be a chance for fans of each franchise to give the other franchise a shot after seeing the cool moves the other side can do?

Well crossovers are fun to think about, and that's about that. I dont want Pokemon to EVER actually be crossed with Digimon or anything else.
