Hariyma back in R/S/E. I just cought it for fun and started lvling it. A time later is my strongest pokémon. :D

Bibarel, Rapidash and Luxray

I used all three for the first time ever on Platinum and was absolutely shocked.

Bibarel had nothing but HMs, but still managed to demolish most things and soaked up hits like a sponge. Both Rapidash and Luxray were pretty fragile, but surprisingly fast and powerful. Rapidash completely swept Byron for me.

I'm gonna go with Breloom - I'm currently doing the ultimate monotype challenge with the Grass-type, and Breloom has saved my ass several times by now. For instance, when I battled Winona, he actually took out most of her team after two or three members of my team had already fainted, despite having a 4x weakness to Flying. Seriously, the thing is a beast.

I haven't but my friend has. I asked him what pokemon he would put in a team from all regions. And for his second one he said Dunsparce!

Ambipom i was just training it originally just to get some items from pickup but he is actually a good fighter

Kecleon has been my favorite Pokemon since the moment I laid eyes on it. I added it to my Pearl team mostly for mascot purposes. It wasn't until much later that I realized he's an intense fighter. I could probably get through every game in every generation with this Kecleon alone. It's movepool is incredible and allows it to learn a bunch of elemental attacks, all of which are very helpful.
I wasn't expecting much in terms of fighting because of all the negative things I heard about him on Pokemon websites. I'm happy I looked past it though, my little Kecleon is my pride and joy. ^-^

Sentrets are oddly powerful as well. I added one to my team because I thought they were adorable, but it turns out he can really hold his own in battle. I'm thoroughly impressed with this little guy.

I added a Cherrim to my team, very, very recently. I wasn't expecting much, just a cute little Pokemon to have around. I guess a lot of Pokemon rating websites sort of scared me off. I have yet to see this thing faint, he sweeps through battles where all the Pokemon are much higher levels than he is. It's incredible and nothing like I was expecting.

Whiscash. I raised one as a poor man's Swampert, because I couldn't find my link cable. It ended up destroying a friend's team. (Salamence, Exeggutor, Registeel)

Farfetch'd. They must have it out for this little guy, but it's my favorite joke pokemon/HM slave. It's like a Swiss army knife. It's good in the field, but God help you if you bring it to a knife fight.

Hitmonchan. Iron Fist is cool. I named mine Little Mac. ROOT FOR THE UNDERDOG!

Pokeman....Pokeman... i love them very much

Hi,
Nice tips for newbie thanks for sharing…

At first, I thought Bidoof was useless, but now since I put him in a three versus three match online, Bibarel is very useful.

I never new dragonite was that strong until I OHKO'd an entire team on wifi with it. I also never thought wobbufet was strong in ruby but then I OHKO'd groudon and I'm like O_O

probably my Koffing, and Vulpix. I caught both of them just for my pokedex, but they turned out to be awesome in battle! When Koffing became Wheezing, he was even better, and now he is on my team almost all the time

Tentacruel. I'd only known him as an annoying jellyfish that popped up and annoyed you for a bit until I used him in my Water monotype challenge, and he's an absolute beast! He's fast, has reasonably high special and bulky enough to take several hits. The star of my team, it's turned out.

For me it was Steelix. I always thought of it as an annoying thing you met in caves, and that was pretty weak. But I found out it is a useful HM Slave, and even as a slave, can still hold his own in battles.
