    As we all know, X Items (along with Guard Spec., and Dire Hit & Knuckles) are in-battle only items that boost a certain stat by one stage (or give the Mist and Focus Energy effects for Guard Spec. and Dire Hit, respectively).

    What do you think of X Items? Do you ever use them or do you just sell/toss them? Do they give you an unfair advantage in battle?

If I'm going to boost my Pokemon's stats, I'd rather do it with status moves my Pokemon knows rather than with the assistance of items.

    Yeah, I feel that they're kind of unfair to use in battle. If you can exploit the AI of the opponent, you can basically set up for free low price because these things cost money. I would really love to see a speedrun done without the use of X Items.

    Whenever I found one, I kept it in my bag until it was full or something. Then I'd usually toss or sell it.
     
    I don't think I've used one of these for years now. I'll end up collecting a few of them from picking them up, but I never find a situation (or rather bother) to use them.
     
    I've never ever used any X Items! They are a decent concept but I don't understand the idea of using a turn for half a Swords Dance. I was watching a Nuzlocke LP on YouTube the guy would spam X Accuracy on boss battles haha.​
     
    I honestly don't think I've ever used X Items, I can usually complete the games easy enough and if I do want to boost up a Pokemon's stat, there's often a move to do so.
     
    I usually just sell them. They really don't serve a purpose in my opinion. Maybe if the games were more challenging, I could see them being used. Even at that point, there is always a move that will allow me to boost my stats the same way.
     
    They're useful in beginning of the game, but as you progress you rather use stats boosting moves like sword dances or dragon dances instead using X items since X items depended on stock and doesn't last forever like stats boosters do. I just let it rot
     
    I used X items a lot in my Ninetales Solo Run. They were extremely useful against Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Red. But I only use them rarely, if at all, in games where I have a full team. They're just not useful outside of a Solo Run to me.
