From what I could tell, this must be centered on games that are due for release during the first quarter of 2016, right? If we do get our announcement, that would put "Z" on par with a 20t anniversary release.

This actually might be important. Pokemon Go won't be released untill there. So Pokken's chances are now higher than a Z's. I doubt if Z would be here till Mai/June.

Let's see, Platinum was announced (these are Japanese dates btw) in May 2008 and released September 2008 (four months), B2W2 were announced in February 2012 and released in June 2012 (four months), XY were announced in January 8th 2013 and release October 10th 2013 (so nine months), OrAs were announced in May 2014 and released November 21st 2014 (so six months). Usually new Gens have a longer gap between announcement and release so it'll likely be closer to OrAs and Pt, If we go with six months then that'll put a release in May which is still Spring btw. Four months would place in in March (a few days late from the anniversary). Actually, all of those except for an XY sized gap would put it in Spring, and as I said, the versions that aren't the initial paired versions tend to come out quicker once they're announced.

If the game is announced today, or later this month and released in February then it'll follow Platinum's pattern pretty well. Giratina and Shaymin's new formes were announced three months prior to announcement of the game, and the game was announced three months later. If it followed it perfectly then a release in March can be expected.

I'm seeing the Nintendo direct right now and I am really thinking that we will be having an announcement of the new Pokemon game. For some reason I can't see why they would announce something Pokken related. THE HYPE IS REAL!

Edit: They began off with the anniversaries (Zelda) soooooooooo *fingers crossed*

I am so disappointed on that puzzle thing. And we got some new footage of shadow mewtwo. yay.

There's 15' left so hey maybe they'll announ.. nevermind, see you next year announcement.

EDIT: I was talking about the anniversaries, but that thing did not cross my mind at all. R/B/Y for the 3ds? Okay. But why?

It's beyond upsetting lol. They tried to make us all that hyped for a puzzle game? Another boring side game, atleast the way I see it.

Yes, as Volcanion (720) isn't available but Hoopa and everyone before is.
 
Pokenchi is our final hope. With Corocoro and just now this Direct did not reveal anything interesting, I lost hope once again. Let's wait another 3 months for a 'potential' announcement! Thanks Masuda for the hype!

Well, it seems that he's going to talk about Pokemon music according to the pre-episode summary, so don't get your hopes up that he'll say anything more...
 
Even though I've never played the original Gen 1 games, it's good to hear that they are releasing them for eShop. I know that a lot of people were wanting them to do that, and now it looks like they will. Another big plus is that them releasing them on the 3DS this way will hopefully quell all of the "Kanto remake" fights that I see people get into.

As for Z, I'm actually not disappointed we didn't hear anything. I'm actually laughing my butt off at myself for expecting a little more than I should have. I now highly doubt the 15th on Pokenchi will give us anything, but I'll still keep an eye out regardless. If not, then we got December and January to hear something. Let's really hope this long wait means they are making "Z" a better quality game than X/Y... if not, then I'll definitely be upset for real.
 
So.. Everyone got all hyped up... for another puzzle game? Haven't we got enough of those? I kinda wish if they did make another sidegame it be unique... and not a generic puzzle game with microtransactions and Pokemon slapped on it. Can we have a traditional RPG with just Pokemon in it? Or a platformer? I'm getting kinda tired of the sidegames filled with microtransactions a la Candy Crush.

Eh. Could be worse, like more ORAS exclusive event Pokemon. :/

It's gotten to the point where I just laugh when they get announced. I don't mind them though, I actually take the time to play them.

So do I.Sad at no Z, but the direct was really good overall The VC release of R/B/Y surprised me. I hope they add missingno in as a nod to the famous glitch, but we shall seee.
