Xenoblade Chronicles X

As far as I'm aware, you don't actually have a choice during that moment, it all leads to the same conclusion. Choices are generally inconsequential but you'll figure this out early on probably, though there were a few choices I made that I'm not sure would have ended in the same result but I'm sure it wasn't important overall.

Response choices during side quests will give a little bit of affinity to characters depending on what you pick so if you want to boost a certain characters affinity then you should try to pick the option that would suit them the most. It's a small boost but it adds up after a while.

Still playing. I got my skell recently and then bought a couple level 30 ones which are certainly better than the first one you get. It... kinda made chapter 7 a breeze, haha. Pretty great feeling to be able to bash up larger and stronger monsters than myself now. Doing more missions before continuing with the story, taking my time with the game exploring and so forth. Wish research probes and especially duplicator probes were easier to find compared to mining probes, because Skeels can cost a lot and I'll be wanting to buy new ones when I hit level 50 or beyond as well.

I do like some of the region themes like Noctilum and Oblivia's day theme. Others like NLA night and some of the battle themes... less so, and there haven't been many songs in the cutscenes that I have liked as much as those in the previous game (and vocals in some just wreck with people's dialogue too). What is good is great, but it's more hit-and-miss for me and some choices just seem odd.

I quite like a lot of the sidequests - those that do extend beyond 'find these items' end up with quite a story to them at times, like the water purification ones, or Professor B's more wacky one. They involve the NPCs much more than the previous game... and often take dark turns.

While they don't matter much with story missions and sometimes in sidequests aside from affinity, I must place this warning to others - some choices you make for side quest missions will have an effect. That effect can include extending the sidequest, to killing off NPCs (no, really). (And some quests will end up with some dead anyway). A hint for one quest (that was given in-game but I'd say it's missable) - blue wire. You'll know what I mean when you come to it.

I was going to avoid saying that some choices will kill characters but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter since they'll be recorded in your affinity chart regardless and so far there doesn't seem to be an achievement related to irrelevant npc deaths. So kill or not kill, whether you choose to do so or accidentally do so has no impact on getting 100% or really anything much outside of said quest. You'll get a little cross mark on their picture in the affinity chart and that's all.

No choice in this game will affect the main plot or sequence of the game, it might affect the outcome of a side quest but those outcomes themselves aren't important anyway. It can say I massacred three characters for all I care, no skin off my back as long as I get the reward items, exp and money. It's not like I even knew who the character was besides their name.

If you're looking to buy expensive Skells just wait until you beat the main story and get the included DLC grinding missions, you get 300k for each play through it and 30k miranium to pump into the AM's if you haven't already finished them by then. There's also one for affinity grinding so don't feel like you need to bother grinding affinity for every single character, since that's easily the most boring thing that you're forced to do in this game to progress.
