    Diamond and Pearl are great and all, but It seems to me that Kanto and Jhoto really were the generations that really hit it off. So on this thread, say if you like jhoto or kanto and name you reason and 3 fave pokemon from that generation.

    Continent: Jhoto
    Reason: Jhoto seems to break off from the other 3 gens. They didnt seem to keep up the tradition of remaking a Pokemon in the next generation. i.e. Kanto: Pidgey and evolutions, Hoenn: Tailow and evolution, Sinnoh: Starly and evolutions. Jhoto seems to skip that tradition and others.
    Ownzor Pokemon that live there: Sunflora, Ampharos, Yanma.
     
    Well, if this thread is about comparing Kanto and Johto...wouldn't it be better suited for the Metal and Color Generations section?

    Region: Kanto
    Reason: I think it's just got a better overall structure and flow to it then Johto
    Favorite Pokemon: Vaporeon and Dragonite. If we're including legendaries, then Mewtwo > all
    Mewtwo will ALWAYS be my favorite of all the games. period.
     
    Even though i liked both i would have to say Kanto.

    FAV POKEMON: MEWTWO, MEW and Blastoise
    REGION: KANTO

    Reason: It's original, isn't it?
    Favorite Pokemon: Rapidash, Staryu and Venusaur. I'm not a fan of Legendaries though...
     
    Continent: Jhoto
    Reason: Its wuz kewl and my 2nd (and favorite) pokemon game was gold
    Ownzor Pokemon that live there: Typhlosion,Ampharos, meganuim,Feralagatr,Noctowl,The gyardos that was always shiny...

    I've never liked Kanto's ingame structure. Too bland for me. The paths seemed to linear and so did the cities, if you know what I mean
     
    Johto! The feeling in those games, and the map, and day and night! And the music in Violet City... iih*shudder of joyness* :)

    Favourite pokés:
    Chikorita (cutie! just watch the manga!)
    Houndoom (I'll never get over how great my old Houndoom was)
    Ampharos (very ugly, but very efficient and easy raised)

    Okej... the pokémon were better in Kanto:
    Poliwrath (if it only learned fighting moves... *sighs*)
    Bulbasaur (what? really? yes.)
    Hypno (pwns anybody!)
     
    I really like Kanto because that's where it all started. But for me Johto is better because you get to go to Kanto anyway which makes it unique since you get to do 2 regions, earn 16 badges and battle Ash.

    Region: Johto
    Reason: More unique than the rest (Plus Heracross came from there)
    Pokemon: Heracross, Donphan and (if we're counting Legendaries) Lugia, if not then Espeon
     
    Continent: Johto
    Reason: My favorite game was Crystal, not only was it the longest and the most epic but it was also the only game in which the elite four is not the strongest. I mean in my opinion, a one on one battle with Red is epic.
    Fav Pokemon in Johto: Umbreon, Typhlosion, Steelix
     
    As far as regions in the anime go, I'd have to say Kanto. It was the most original of all the anime series, and overall had the highest quality of animating and voice acting (at least in the dub).

    For everything else, Johto is my favourite. I loved the new Pokemon featured in it, the games for it were some of the best, and I loved the overall layout of the region geographically. Though, the "Johto Journey's" anime didn't impress me to much, neither did the fourth movie; which was also featured in that region.
     
    Region: Jhoto
    Reason: It was just so entertaining. The Gym's Types were all the not-so-popularish types, it introduced the Day Care, starters were awesome, etc.
    3 Fave Pokemon: Espeon, Quilava, and Ampharos. <everyone loves the amphy!>
     
    Region: Kanto
    Reason: Can't beat the classics. Still the most -magical- place, if that makes any sense.
    Favorite Pokemon: Raichu, Vaporeon, Mew
     
    Jhoto...the game that made me an addict :P ...
    Favs: Lanturn, Typhlosion, Ampharos.
