    Deck Creating Tips
I want a deck! Help me!

First off, I'd like to give my own tips. :)

    • A deck with 50+ cards will not work correctly. In some occasions though, they will work if the right cards are combined together.
    • Find a deck that fits you.
    • Whatever deck you use use cards wisely. Doing so will provide you a spot to success.
    • If you want, name your decks so that you'll remember it.
    • Discover the power of your cards and use them wisely.
Now to the tips from sites that really helped me in building my decks.

    • A monster with 4000 ATK doesn't make a deck good. A good deck contains: strong 4 starred monsters, a way to tribute summon without using any tributes at all, a way to draw extra cards, no more or less than 42 cards (although, on some occasions more than 42 will work great) , cards that make you search your deck for other cards, monsters that summon other monsters when they're destroyed, and cards that can wipe out your opponents monsters, spells, and traps.
    • A strong deck doesn't contain: huge tribute monsters without no way to avoid paying the tribute, lots of equip cards, all 100 of your favorite cards, no way to search your deck for cards, and a strategy to power up your favorite monster and crushing your opponent with it.
    • Your deck don't always need to be a theme deck, even a bunch of cards that works well together can make a good deck.
    • Decide your playing style, then build a deck that accords to your playing style.
    • Your spell and trap cards should be for monster support and combos; the rest would be for favorites and staples.
    • Always know what are the banned cards, so that you can always update your deck.
    • Always test your deck before making it official. If you ask me, I test my deck via arranging it in my game called: YuGiOh GX Tagforce 3. I can test if it works together or not.
    • Uncover your deck's weakness and keep modifying it with new support cards.
    • Your favorites and staples shouldn't be prioritized over your combos.
    • Never use illegal cards. Doing so will increase everyone's hate on you.
    • Determine what format you'd like to use: Advanced or Traditional.
    Recommended Cards

These cards are cards that I recommend, but these are mostly staples.

    • Asura Priest ~ Come on! Attack all of opponents monsters, 4 starred and 1700 ATK? I really want this card on my deck.
    • Honest ~ Combined with Asura Priest, this card can make your Asura Priest as strong as your opponents strongest monster.
    • Berserk Gorilla ~ A monster that can smashy smashy your opponent with its 2000 ATK.
    • Heavy Storm ~ Can destroy all Spells and Traps on the field, but be careful with this card as it can also destroy your spells and traps.
    • Sakuretsu Armor ~ This card can destroy an attacking opponent monster. Can be useful, but don't rely on it. Some monsters can negate this effect, i.e: Jinzo, Ancient Gear Golem, Ancient Gear Soldier.
    • Sangan ~ especially useful in Exodia decks.
    • Mystical Space Typhoon ~ Can destroy traps and spells right from your hand.
That's probably it. PM me if something should be added. To the mods, if this thread is not allowed feel free to close it. Thank you. :)

Nice dude :3. I'm pretty sure this could be useful for newbies wanting to get into yugioh. But I do have two problems though:

    1. I run a Gemini Deck with 45 cards and it works pretty well so basically limiting to 42 isn't necessary for all decks, although limiting to 42 still is good for most decks.

    2. Mystical Space Typhoon doesn't negate. It just simply destroys. So basically chaining mystical space typhoon to the activation of a card will just simply destroy it and more then often the cards effect is not negated.

Not a good guide. There is no emphasis on strategy at all.
Actually, it's half decent, I'm just in a bad mood. But I think it's too friendly. I like being told if I'm crap straight off, not gently.

    1. I actually really don't like limiting decks to 42, as I have a deck with 48 cards and it works great.

    2. I was tired when I typed the Mystical Space Typhoon description. Thanks for reminding. :)

This is not a tutorial on how to create decks or how to play YuGiOh TCG. :\
Its just tips, not how to have strategies. :\

The guide is great for casual play.

    Cyber Dragon > Berserk Gorilla

Your isn't great but it's okay. It's quite lacking.

    lolwut

Also, Sakuretsu Armor is quite obsolete now with Dimensional Prison running around in everyone's decks.

You can't compare Cyber Dragon with Beserk Gorilla. It would be more appropriate to compare Gene-Warped Warwolf over Beserk Gorilla.

Hell, GWW is better than Beserk Gorilla.

Eh, like many people have said, good guide for casual play, but you should add Solemn and Mirror Force to the recommended list. Also, Honest isn't technically a staple; it is for LIGHT decks because of its effect (which is extremely beastly, by the way); such as Lightsworns, Twilights and Aliens, just to name a few.

Dark Armed is another examle of a card I like to call 'mid-staple'; staples for different-types decks. Dark Armed Dragon is great for DARK decks.

Good job overall though. Very nice for pure beginners (though for them I would suggest buying a structure deck such as Zombie World and Dinosaur's Rage, which by the way, are probably two of the best SD's in the game). I think it's a little hard to make a custom deck as well; and pricey.
