So I got bored (as always) and decided to see if I could make a viable Ninja themed deck.

    Monsters, 13 in total.
    Armed Ninja x 2
    Crimson Ninja x 2
    Lady Ninja Yae x 2
    Strike Ninja x 2
Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja x 2
    White Ninja x 2
    Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke

    Spells, 16 in total.
    Big Bang Shot x 2
    Book of Moon x 2
Reinforcement of the Army x 2
    Enemy Controller x 2
    Fuhma Shuriken x 3
    Level Limit - Area B
    Mystical Space Typhoon
    Opti-Camouflage Armor x 2
    The A. Forces

    Traps, 11 in total.
    Compulsory Evacuation Device
    Destruction Jammer
    Dust Tornado
    Final Attack Orders
    Kunai with Chain
Ninjitsu Art of Decoy x 2
    Security Orb x 2
    Thunder of Ruler x 2

    Playbook.
Using Lady Ninja Yae, Crimson Ninja and Armed Ninja's effect to get rid of spells and traps. Book of Moon, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Security Orb, Thunder of Ruler and Enemy Controller for stalling. Using Opti-Camouflage Armor equipped to Crimson / Armed Ninja for direct attacks while hopefully Fuhma Shuriken is equipped, giving bonus attack.

    ...o_o

Uuuuuh, I see no FAST monster removal. At all. One answer to your everything? Any one of the big boss monsters of metagame fame. Dark Armed Dragon, Brionac, Judgment Dragon, Celestia, you name it. Stalling probably isn't enough here.

Ninjas aren't viable, let's face it. T_T Yes, even less so than Monk Fighter/Master Monk/Lone Wolf and Kaminote Blow. v_V The arguably best Ninja card, Ninjitsu Art of Transformation, is not seen anywhere in this deck, and stall decks don't really work if they have no win condition other than "beat down your opponent's lifepoints by attacking directly using an effect".

Ninjitsu Art of Transformation is not included in the deck, because I saw no reason for it, if I had no high level monsters to summon, why would I have it in the deck?

My point is that you need more attack points for this deck to be even remotely effective - and fast field destruction potential.

The A. Forces, Fuhma Shuriken and Big Bang Shot all increase ATK, imagine this,

Crimson ninja, and two Ninja Lady Yae on the field. Crimson Ninja equipped with Opti-Camouflage armor, The A. Forces and Fuhman Shuriken equipped. That makes it ATK 1600, and it is able to attack directly.

Ah, the discussion of equip cards versus raw attack points. Card advantage wise, equip cards are very ineffectual and should only be used alongside Power Tool Dragon - if the monster's dead, the equip cards are also dead. That's a -2 or more in card advantage for you. On the other hand, if your monster attacks their monster, it's only a -1 for them because they only lose one card in the exchange. Also, equip cards are too much of a liability because if your opponent has Heavy Storm in their hand and you play three equips, it's pretty much GG because you've just overcommited what was likely half of your hand and they gain a tidy +2. +3, if you played Big Bang Shot, because YOUR monster just got RFG'd.

Ninjas are too easily killed because of their low attack. The highest attack ninja, Grandmaster Sasuke, dies to a Wulf, and everything in a Ninja deck dies to Kalut and friends. Not to mention that Colossal Fighter beats their face in because all Ninjas are warriors.

Also, the attack directly thing? Dinos can do it better via the Sauropod Brachion and Black Tyranno combo - 2700 attacking directly with only TWO easily-summoned cards by using Big Evolution Pill and/or Gilasaurus. So if you want something like that, use Dinos.

It is not a ninja theme deck (rather just a compilation of several cards with "Ninja" in there name. And also because there is no such thing as a ninja theme deck, as ninja cards don't share a common theme.

NO. Equip cards have other uses. Mage Power, Twin Swords of Flashing Light Trice, United We Stand, ETC. Those are all good equip spells.

With the possible exception of United We Stand, none of those are good equip spells

United We Stand facilitates some pretty ridiculous things, but yeah, the other equips are crap.

The only time when equips are actually good is, as I've said, when they equip themselves to your opponent's monsters (Mark of the Rose, Big Bang Shot loltrollin') and with Power Tool Dragon.

Or when put on Maha Vaho. Maho Vaho + UWS = pain and hurt.

But as for equips they are all useful. The only thing is that they are only useful in specialized decks. Well, except for demotion. That thing is completely useless.

Edit - Twin swords. Hmm a interesting card. That thing just screams noob tactics, but still a interesting card. I might try to do a build that exploits that card.

Ben Kei + UWS + other equips = massive pain and hurt, which is really the only reason you play equips at all.

    Maha Vailo is still horribad.
