[YGO] The most useful card in your opinion?

I though the title says "in my opinion"? But w/e, I still love it. :P

Allure of Darkness has always been very useful to me. It has two very interesting uses, and always puts up a good effort for a spell card.

Well, of course it is your opinion... that is why I am arguing my opinion. : o

Read my synopses on both of the cards and you'll know why I think Book is a better candidate than Solemn Judgment. : p

@Poster: we're not discussing if a card is the most useful or not... Allure is only usable in DARK-based decks and not even a staple.

Go ahead and tell me all the cards you've mentioned so far don't excel in the 'useful' field. And I didn't know that we had to only discuss staples.

which card to you deem to be the most versatile, playable, useful, and unique card of all?
Versatile: It has two alternate uses. WHAT, who cares if I don't have DARK monsters on my list, it's obvious that at this point I use it for it's alternate effect.
Playable: In both cases.
Useful: Mentioned above.
Unique: Duh, every card is almost unique in it's own way.

Is it playable in every deck? No. Is its effect powerful? Not particularly unless you are playing the "draw two cards" effect and actually keeping the cards. It's about as useful as Into the Void if you only play it for the second effect, except Into the Void is arguably better because you can actually use the cards (if you have no hand it's bad).

Allure is unplayable in decks not running DARK monsters because you can play much better things. It is also useless because there are cards that also do its "discard my entire hand" job better than it. And it's a Normal Spell, only playable on your turn. Conclusion: not versatile.

Also Allure isn't THAT unique. It's a two-for-two draw card. There are like over 9000 of those.

How about Pot of Duality. That's a pretty epic card, no?

Pot of Greed is banned, therefore, usless in any situation.

And Magic Jammer is crap. So many things do the job better. When you said ULTRA AMAZING, I thought it was going to be something really epic xD

I know, it was actually a pun. The main thing is about PoG. Actually, scratch that...if I'm supposed to stay within reasonable tiers, I'm going with that three-eyed-fiend-we-all-know.

I agree with PoD. If you can actually get hold of a copy, most people would instantly insert it. It's awesome, replaces itself, and accelerates whatever strategy you're playing, so long as you can live without special summoning for one turn.

PoD is cool, but so not cool when they have turn one Thunder King Rai-Oh.

I suppose it is probably in the top 5-10 somewhere... just not sure where.

I still don't see what all the hype is around Pot of Duality. No Special Summoning is a huge cost in a lot of decks, and the card itself is, technically, a 0. The only thing good about the card is that it lets you choose which card you want. It's not versatile at all, and because of the secondary effect, it's worthless in a lot of decks. So sorry, but I just don't see it.

...Except consistency is a huge part of why people run decks. Consistent decks with a little less power (not being able to Special Summon on a turn) are much stronger against inconsistent decks with a little more power. Pot of Duality is like running 40 - x cards where x is the number of Pot of Dualities you run while improving the consistency of your deck EVEN MORE.

Sangan is pretty versatile and awesome and useful. Sometimes I have no space for Sangan though.
Yeah, I finally found my choice ;D

What kind of deck theme are you using? One possible combination that could definately leave Sangan out is a monopoly of cards with the same name, etc.

By the way, I forgot to mention that Pot of Duality < Magic Jammer.

Can Anyone say Dandylion?

All you have to do is get a Foolish Burial and you now have 2 tokens on your field.

Also, Morphing Jar. If you play a Brionac Strategy or other you pretty much discarded everything they had in their hand, maybe even their best card and you get to fill yours.

Dandylion and Morphing Jar are both pretty good cards, but not extremely versatile or powerful (in the case of Morphing Jar it might even be horrible for you as your opponent refills his hand as well).

@Poster: No space means I'm not playing some silly Dark Synchro deck that needs Sangan... I need all of the slots for my deck. Pretty much I need Need NEED to run 7+ Traps or run Decree, as this is a monster-removal-heavy format, and my spell selection is also locked to about 7+ (triple Book double MST Dark Reborn) and usually I play 2-3 Pot of Duality as well. Then we have the archetypal support cards and we also need space for the bulk of the deck. Sangan is a decent choice but there is no space when you want to stick to 40 cards.

God there are so many cards...

I personally dont play book in all my decks simply cause i couldn't fit it in my dragon deck, but it is still rather high on my list. Solemn is also very high and so is monster reborn. slowly it seems mirror force is being rejected by people now. in my opinion my most useful card (for my dragon deck) is my PMD (Prime Material Dragon) if my opponant is useing scraps PMD is useful has it stops scrap storm (:D). But all up Book is rather high maybe even number on in usefulness all up. For all the reasons said before my vote for most useful card is Book of Moon.

Lockmaster: You should rebuild your deck and make Book of Moon a higher priority. Dragon decks fold too much to decks sporting monsters with higher attack. Book of Moon is epic and probably one of the best defensive cards this format (the other being Solemn Warning).
