    So.

    My deck!

    [PokeCommunity.com] [YGO] Tournament Report - PokeCommunity GT8

    Match 1 - vs KinokiGaming

Game 1 I see he's playing Six Samurai when he summons a Kagemusha into a Kizan. I'm like "I'm pretty sure you're going for Barkion" but he goes for Brionac, which is really weird. I'm like "ok" and proceed to faceroll him with a bunch of Synchros including Hyper Librarian into Shooting Quasar.

Game 2 I side in Thunder Kings and Puppet Plants, and I think I thought about siding in Chain Disappearance but decided against it (since Shi En negates all my stuff : X). Siding out a bunch of my Traps (just Mirror Force and Call of the Haunted) as well as my Dualities because Rai-Oh ruins Duality plays. I open with the trololo PUPPET PLANT and proceed to steal his first-turn Shi En, proceeding to tune it with a level 1 Tuner for Iron Chain Dragon. It goes downhill for him from there and I go for a quick Formula Synchron / Hyper Librarian play.

    Match 2 - Impo

Really nothing noteworthy; I feel bad stomping a casual with this deck. : x

    Match 3 - Firestar

Game 1 I discover it's a mirror match. Cool story. I don't remember too many of the details this game; I think he discarded a Tytannial at some point during it but we basically played a grinding game where I kept losing LP because of my Counter Traps; but I ate some oranges and it was k, getting out a bunch of monsters to beat down on his field after a nuke. (Not sure about the nuke but I THINK it happened...) Long and short of it I was able to control his explosions, but he wasn't able to do the same for mine. I ended with two Doppel Tokens, a Librarian, and an Iron Chain. : v I think I went for a Librarian and an Iron Chain but he killed my Librarian and I made a second one after playing PoA.

Game 2 I sided in my Chain Disappearances, my Thunder Kings, and my D.D. Crows. (Six cards for the mirror match YEAAAAAH) Unfortunately I don't think I actually got to USE any of them... I was holding a D.D. Crow for the duration of the game or something and simply beat down with a two-Librarian explosion into a Trishula. Yeah.

    Match 4 - Mr. X

Game 1 - I see he's playing a burn deck. Okay! So I explode without any problems and go for a Shooting Quasar. He activates Magical Cylinder and I negate it. Nothing dramatic; to game 2 we go.

Game 2 - He has more direct burn cards! I honestly don't know where this is going but I explode again for spectacular results. Et cetera et cetera. That's what the deck does.

    Semi-finals - Inferno of Tsunami (... I believe that's what it says)

Game 1 - I play a grinding game; I continually lose LP due to Counter Traps, and I have no idea why he didn't simply activate Decree before going off, but he didn't and I was able to resolve crucial Warnings. I Giant Trunade him to explode for game.

Game 2 and 3 - I side in six cards, and get lucksacked by Brionac and a bunch of Synchros both games TURN 3 (BOTH GAMES) ... -_- Lucksacks happen, goddammit Konami, and so on. I was like "..." and then "wat".

And so my hope for first place came to an end. : U

Yeah that's about it. I hope you had fun reading but it was honestly just something I wanted to write up. : v

Good job getting top 4 cut.

I personally think Tengu Plants should feel shame for losing with you, not you. I mean you have more skill than anyone here. And lucksacking stinks.

I would do a report, but I didn't even make top , so why even?

    Aaah.

Yes, Decree decks and non-Decree decks have drastically different playstyles. One is heavy aggressive because you know they can't stop you, and one... isn't. You have to play a lot more defensively if you don't have Decree, since you're not worried that they'll blow you out (because you have defensive traps, hopefully) and you're worried your blowout might be destroyed by a well-placed Solemn Warning.

Remember, you should always Decree immediately the turn after you set it! Otherwise they'll Dust Tornado it away when you activate it, and then you become a sad panda. : (
