    [PokeCommunity.com] Yoshi's Woolly World

This came out in North America today, so I figured it'd be a nice time to get a topic started about it! Anyone pick this up today? Or if you're European, how have you been enjoying it since it came out? Anyone pick up the yarn Yoshi Amiibos? Discuss, discuss!

I've been excited for this game since it's announcement. I'm a big fan of Yoshi and also really enjoyed Kirby's Epic Yarn. Probably my favorite aesthetic in any game I played so when I saw that it was coming to the Yoshi series, I got super pumped. I don't have the money to buy it, so I just checked it out from work and I've really enjoyed it. I only played up through level 6 in World 1 so far, but it's really fun! I enjoy looking around for the flowers and yarn and it's great when a game rewards your curiosity. I'll probably end up asking for this for Christmas. :) Oh, and I got a pink Yarn Yoshi Amiibo and I love it. It's only the second one I've opened, haha. But it's so smol and soft ugh everyone should get one of these Amiibos.

It's an amazing game, probably my favourite on the Wii U and the only Yoshi game that didn't bore me after a few hours, I had a bad track record with the series so I was cautious going into it. I remember saying if there was an amiibo actually worth what it costs then it'd be the Yarn Yoshi ones, I still didn't buy any because I'd rather buy a game or anything else but I like that they made them.

I didn't like many of the yoshi patterns because they're all pretty ugly but some of them had some neat designs. It's funny seeing peoples first impressions now since I've had the game for so long now, I wonder if they'll have trouble on the levels I had trouble on.

Yeah, some of the Yoshi patterns are kind of silly looking, but I really appreciate the effort to give us new designs rather than solid colors. Some are so silly that they're great, haha. I like Circus Yoshi and Shy Guy Yoshi so far. I think the Mario one is pretty funny too. But the excitement to see the Yoshi's yarn pattern is something that helps drive players to find all of the yarn in the level, so I think that's a great way to give incentive to the player. And you get to play as those Yoshis, so that's a really nice perk overall.

I'm gonna be trying out the co-op tomorrow with my boyfriend. I tried playing with the Amiibo today and it's kind of awkward, haha. idk what they were going for there, but I don't think it worked unless I'm doing something wrong. :P It's a little confusing playing with the Amiibo because it's just another Yoshi and it follows all your commands, but also keeps the screen from moving forward in some cases, so that can be an issue. But again, I might just be doing something wrong, idk.

Anyone annoyed that none of the Pokémon amiibos work for Yoshi's Woolly World? They only give me an Amiibo Yoshi costume.

I am currently at World 2, and I'll get back to playing it after my gamepad charges.

Don't have a Wii U, but this game absolutely makes me want one...and those Amiibos. I've been trying to restrain myself from watching any more gameplay videos to save myself the spoilers, but it's awfully hard when everything's so adorable.
