    Electric Elite 4:

    Pikachu Lv 51
    Jolteon Lv 53
    Luxray Lv 53
    Manectric Lv 55
    Lanturn Lv 54
    Zebstrika Lv 57

I love Electric types, so that will be my choice. ;)

I would be an E4 like that fire type one in Sinnoh (omg I suck at character names... Flint?). I'd technically have a certain type, but I'd have seemingly random Pokémon lumped in there too.

    → Raichu
    → Galvantula
    → Stunfisk
    → Zebstrika
    → Probopass
    → Cherrim

That's probably not the order I'd send them out in, and I suppose the Cherrim is optional which is why I listed it last. :[ If Cherrim wouldn't be allowed, I'd probably replace it with Magnezone and spin it as an Electric/Steel sort of thing. :D

    Normal-type.

    Girafarig, Lv59
    Snorlax, Lv58
    Porygon-Z, Lv59
    Dodrio, Lv58
    Persian, Lv60

Of course these guys would have a pretty varied selection of moves, so even Fighting-types better watch out xD

I would have water-types, but I would use ones that make it difficult for electric Pokemon.

    Swampert
    Gyarados
    Lapras
    Kingdra
    Seismitoad

We have not yet had a Grass type E4 member yet, so seeing how Grass is -a- favorite...

    Ferrothorn, level 72
    Whimsicott, level 73
    Lilligant, level 73
    Ludicolo, level 74
    Celebi Roserade, level 71
    Leafeon, level 85

Leafeon's at a high level to throw trainers off-track o3o "Oh, hey, all these Pokemon are around the same level...OHCRAP."

    • Jolteon
    • Magnezone

I'd either be fire or psychic... although seen as you can only choose one type I'll just go for fire:

    houndoom
    flareon
    typhlosion
    volcarona
    blaziken
    arcanine

    Ground type

Camerupt [Fire/Ground]: Slow, but fairly powerful to start off the match
Swampert [Water/Ground]: Decent in power, and differing in weaknesses
Torterra [Grass/Ground]: Of course, also able to pack a decent punch, and yet another type variation
Golem [Rock/Ground]: Normal, usual type combo.
Flygon [Dragon/Ground]: Only ground type that can fly. Strong against most other types and fast. Used somewhere in between to make some surprise attack.
OP says 5 pokemon only, but as many did post a sixth, I'll add a sixth one too
Tyranitar (Semi-legendary, that's why it's off the normal team)
or Armaldo if Rock/Bug would be allowed here, does have a few (mostly tm or special) Ground moves.

    - Lv. 70 Blaziken
    - Lv. 68 Magmortar
    - Lv. 69 Charizard
    - Lv. 72 Infernape

...And as for a sprite, imagine a twenty-something guy in a WWII-era US Marine uniform wielding a flamethrower.
