No matter what country you're from Celebrity Gossip is a common thing... So what is your feelings about this and why?

Personally I find it quite annoying. Like why would you want to know so much about a person's private life?!?!

I see why people delve into celebrity gossip, although I'm not really like them.

A lot of people here love talking about rumors and such as a habit. I guess it's a form of entertainment for them, because they find celebrities interesting enough to contribute in the spread. Again, I don't have much in common with these people because I think that everyone needs a little space-- good ol' privacy. I respect that. And as boring as your life may be, you gotta admit that even you wouldn't like other people prying or making rumors about your own business.

I think it's stupid and condescending towards common people, who have similar things going on in their lives, but when you add fame to it, it suddenly becomes newsworthy? No, that isn't how it should be. I think, to the extent celebrity gossip has become, shows how superficial society has become. How celebrity news is all over the regular news and they take longer time talking about what's going on in a celebrity's life than reporting things going on around the world bothers me the most.

    I...I cannot get enough of it, lol. I admit I'm the first one to spread celebrity rumors and have entire conversations about what celebrities are doing, lol. For example, when Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher separated, I was going on for days about her. Same for any celebrities that I like, lol. I just love celebrity gossip too much ;-;

I don't want to admit it, but I really can get into some celebrity gossip.
I used to work front-end cash register in a slow retail environment (Pharmacy) not too long ago and would easily get sucked into People and Us Weekly magazines on the rack next to the register. I would usually see something about the Kardashians on the front, open the magazine to see what's going on only soon to be reading the entire magazine, twisting my hair and giggling like a weirdo.
If someone caught me I would try to be all cool about.

It made work go by a lot quicker though.

    Tl;Dr: No I don't mind it.

I really could care less. What Kim Kardashian did for lunch last Tuesday (Or WHO she did last Tuesday) is in no way newsworthy. It's garbage.

I love entertainment industry gossip, but not gossip about the private lives of 'celebrities'. In a sense, I love gossip about any new films or TV shows in development, or industry backchannel talk about ratings and box office figures... but not so much who had sex with who or who's got a new perfume range coming out or anything. That stuff, I couldn't care less about. But things like pilot season or TCA press tour or awards of any kind; I just eat that stuff right up!

Realistically? That is what celebrity is for. To be well known and to be gossip about. Otherwise, we'd all be living a boring life right?

Personally? I could careless for all the drama people bring about them. I mean, I wouldn't mind knowing the fact of who's pregnant, who's engaging/marrying who, and so on, but the rest who tries to spread rumors are just plain annoying in my book.

They are nothing more than human beings, and so are we. When gossiping, at least have respect for one another.

I think if even half of the celebrity gossip out there were true I might take more of an interest, but I don't believe a word of it. In the end, I have a set of actors and actresses of whom I am an ENORMOUS fan, and I pay attention to select aspects of gossip about them. For instance:

    - I need to know about any new projects they are going to star in, so I can fanboy over the movie/show in advance and get appropriately excited
    - I need to know if they fall pregnant, so that I can fly into a furious rage about how they're going to give up acting to look after their stupid baby
    - I need to know if they die, so that I can go into a deep depression and cry. Yes it's true, I am in fact that sad.

Anything else, the breakups or the heartbreaks or whatnot, I don't care in the slightest. As long as they get up and go to work in the morning, I'm good. I have people I adore, but I adore them for their work not for their tragic love lives.

I'm not one to care about celebrity gossip, especially when it gets into celebrities' private lives and blows stuff out of proportion (such as the National Enquirer always ripping on Dr. Phil and predicting bad things about Oprah Winfrey and some other celebrities, and shows like Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight obsessing about some celebrity wedding or scandal, also blowing those kind of things out of proportion.)

I have a guilty pleasure of reading celebrity gossip. I used to be a huge fan of Perez Hilton and I would read his blog daily. Even on my phone throughout the day because I loved it so much. If I see a celebrity gossip magazine I'll most likely flip through it for a while. Especially while in grocery store lines OMG they seriously get me every time. Anddddd I shamelessly used to watch E! News, Entertainment Tonight, and Inside Edition all the time too.

I've calmed down a lot though considering I don't ever watch TV anymore and I only poke around Perez Hilton once in a while.
