Your Choice: Magic vs. Science

I probably know the overwhelmingly majority of you will choose what I think you're going to choose for this question, but I'm still inclined to ask it.

If we lived in a world where magic existed, and magic and science ruled side-by-side, and you were given the choice to choose between magic and science, what would you choose?

Remember some things, though: in this world, magic does not solve everything. In fact, in this world, it actually tends to create a lot of problems because those who choose to have it do not understand it. You can not do the things you can do using science through magic, and you can not do the things that you dream of doing through magic with science. Together they work as one. Also remember, before answering, just how powerful science is today and how it continues to advance.

IS THIS LIKE INDEX SCIENCE WHERE I GET SUPERPOWERS? BECAUSE I'D TOTALLY CHOOSE SCIENCE IF THAT WERE THE CASE.

I'd actually choose Science either way since Science was the main factor in improving our standard of living. Progress is the way to go. Magic sounds really appealing in its convenience, but it doesn't evolve much from its base form. NOW SCIENCE, I START OUT AS A LEVEL 0 AND THROUGH TRAINING I CAN RAISE THAT LEVEL AND ASDFJKL:SJD:FLKJS:ALDFJ:LAJF

Scientific magic, a la Eirin Yagokoro.

Actually, no. It depends. Is magic an all-purpose force that can be applied to roughly everything with a little bit of study and effort? In that case, I stand by my answer.

But if it's extremely finicky, and science is more akin to miracle science, then I'll choose magical science (a la Rikako).

Also, there'd be many different factors. If the land is split 50-50, then I'll probably be a mage for the fancy clothes.

YES!!! That's what inspired me to ask this question!!

Why choose one or the other when you can easily have both? Or is being close-minded and dogmatic a prerequisite for being either a scientist or a mage in this hypothetical?
Because that didn't happen on Index, and that's what this thread is based on. AND IF IT DOES, DON'T TELL ME BECAUSE YOU'LL BE SPOILING SOMETHING MAJOR!!!

Science all the way. You can summon flowers with you magic. I can build a ship and give it a planet killing weapon with science.

Still, I'd prefer both. Science mostly, but I'd use magic, when needed, to tell the laws of physics to go play with themselves.

Edit. The song i'm listening to right now? Spaceship Warlock.

Too bad you didn't specify that your definitions of "magic" and "science" are based on Toaru Majutsu no Index and that we were playing by that universe's rules. It's not like it matters, seeing as most respondents either don't know or don't care about whatever rules govern magic and science in Index anyway.

Science for me, since it encompasses technology. Otherwise I would have a very hard time deciding since both have their advantages (and I certainly like watching my magical girl anime). But if choosing magic means giving up technological advancements, give me science.
