Not about whether you believe in ghosts!
    That might be in OVP later though >>;

    Define: Paranormal said:
can not be explained by scientific methods; supernatural

In this case we're going to be talking about ghosts, spirits, that sort of thing.

What are your experiences with the paranormal, if you've had any?

How many houses have you lived in? Were more than one haunted? What kinds of paranormal activity? Was it scary? How sure are you it was real as opposed to a nightmare? Were the spirits evil?

I have lived in two houses previous to my current one I fully believe to be haunted. Though, the stories are long. I'll post them later.

Ugh, it always happens to me. >_>

I once saw a face at my sister's room staring at me (it was covered in blood and looked devilish), it disappeared when I blinked. (So its obviously only my imagination but I can't really tell...)

This is a very special topic for me, thats for sure. But, yes. The paranormal seems to follow me around everywhere.
I've gone from religion to religion, making a few bad choices, and attracting a few unwanted..."guests"
Might post the story later; however, my fingers hurt to much to do it now. XD
Long story short " Me = portal. :/

I've never seen a ghost. I actually don't believe in garden variety ghosts.

    XD Yes...yes I am!
To clarify my earlier post about what you just said. They aren't "Ghosts" Per say, but Astral beings of either the demonic or angelic. (meaning, good or bad) spirits.
    Spirit =/= Ghost

I have never had any experience with ghosts, spirits or anything else. However, the rest of my family seem to have such experiences on a semi-regular basis.

So, either I'm insensitive to something others can sense, or, everyone else is imagining things and I'm the only sane one around here.

Actually I spoke prematurely, I forgot about the two times I recall. One time seeing the after-image of a man standing against my boyfriend's bedroom wall, even though I had not seen him in normal vision. You know how you blink and see after-images for a few seconds of what you just viewed. In this case, there was nothing in the room to create a yellow after-image of a man standing with his hands and legs spread out against a wall (all ten fingers visible too). The only man in the room was my boyfriend and he was sitting at his desk typing on the computer. The other time in the same room also I have encountered an energy that presented itself visually, though not in its true form. I didn't literally see it, it was more like the image was being downloaded into my mind from some outside source and it tried to speak with me, but I didn't trust it. I told it to go away and it did.

That's the only times. Ever. And strangely, only in my boyfriend's bedroom. So I wonder if it had something to do with the location rather than my sensitivity. He said he's seen a few strange things too, not people but strange lights and flashes. We even both saw a flash in front of us at the same time with no possible source, curtains were shut.

The only possible scientific explanation is that there is something in the air in his house that can cause mild hallucinations (hope not, and don't think so!). But it doesn't explain seeing something at the exact same time as each other.

    Well, I'm probably going to get laughed as this, but...;;

When we went on a trip to Belgium in my History class, we visited the Allied and German graveyards from WWII. The Allied graveyard was calm, peaceful, serene...it was a very peaceful place to be. Whereas the German graveyard felt...wrong. We all got creeped out by it and asked to leave eventually; some people in the class were genuinely scared. Afterwards the teacher told us that the German graveyard was just a mass grave, that they flung the bodies in a big hole and then just dotted the ground with headstones. :|

It cemented my belief that areas can suffer from strong emotional vibes. It could be psychological or supernatural, I don't know, but I certainly think that when a person says "this place feels wrong" they're picking up on something.

When I was little I remember sleeping in my parent's bed, the window was open and I saw something white floating around.. It was a bit transparent too. I was rather creeped out and no matter what I did my mom and dad didn't wake up. Other than that nothing.

Well i haven't seen anything that i believe to be paranormal, i've seen a few unexplained things but i mostly think it was my imagination, but my parents say that they keep seeing a little girl walking around the hallway on the first floor of our house. At first i didn't believe them until on time my step dad said that he saw the girl and that she shouted 'daddy!' and my step dad was as white as your eyeball. Seriously.

I've had bad experiences with a ghost when I was little, but I wont go into it because its to creepy, my memory of its very fuzzy (but it did happen, my parents remember things about it as well), and it's to long to explain. Though there was another ghost (possibly a great, great grandmother). But I have seen several other ghosts. There's also this ghost that follows my mum, she sometimes sees him and you can sometimes smell his smoke. I've talked to him with a pendulem.
He says hes protecting my mum, from what I don't really know.

And a few months ago i SWEAR I could feel a cat crawling up my back and purring while I was in bed almost asleep. My mums friend says he sees a ghost cat hanging around our house sooo... Oh and sometimes I hear footsteps and heavy breathing in my room. though ususally when this happens I'm almost asleep so maybe it's just my imagination? And one time when I was sitting on the porch during a storm (haha im so weird! who does that?) in tha paddock next door to us, I saw this bright light in the shape of a man walking over a little hill. I looked away for a moment and when I looked back he was gone.

Anyway, I love ghosts and stuff, although most of the time I'm to scared let them in. usually I just block them by thinking "dont you dare come near me!!!" *runs under her blanket* maybe it was from scary experience as a little girl?

I have never actually seen a ghost or anything paranormal, but it is a large part of the culture at where I live, Malaysia. They're usually for children as a "precaution" so they won't be obnoxious, wasteful of food, and stuff like that.

    There are examples of this:-

If you have a visible portrait (painted, not photographed) of yourself or anyone in your family in your house, your house might be burned down by the paranormal.

If you leave a speck (is that the word?) of rice on your bed, you'll find a sleeping ghost beside your bed the next morning if you sleep on the bed.

Losing money or precious stuff when you have all your doors and windows closed tight usually indicates that poltergeists have stolen them.

Some of these can be pretty silly and can sound pretty frightening for children.

There are also cultural beliefs of the paranormal that portrays good.

    For example:-

When one of your parents pass away, the next time you sleep you can feel your parent caress your hair.

Every bad ghost that haunts someone will always have a good ghost to oppose it.

Darn it, Yellow, I was pondering making this thread sometime soon. xD

Anyways, yes, I have to say I am sensitive to this kind of stuff. D:

Uhm, so, the one I still remember to this day. xD I was trying to fall asleep, back when I still turned off the light before bed, and I could feel something heavy in the air, but I just brushed it off. So, I start hearing a low but angry 'Gabriel...' (Gabriel = my name and I was alone at the time). I ignore it, thinking it's my imagination, and again, I hear a more ticked off 'Gabriel...!' Of course, I'm starting to get freaked out, but I just ignore it again. One last time, I hear, like a bloody demon growling at me, 'GABRIEL!' and I do not know how I managed to sleep that night. xD I asked my mum if she was calling me and she said she got home very late that night, I slept at about 9PM that night. D: Any time I'm in the dark in my house now, I always feel watched. :c

I have more, but I lazy now. :D

I've had two experiences. When I was nice and little, not even a teenager yet, I lived in a different house in virginia and had very frequent nightmares that often involved me dieing in some way or me waking up and seeing something strange.

A couple of dreams I can remember that are of significance. One night, I "woke up", got out of my bed, and caught sight of this lavender sky outside my window. Now, the sky normally doesn't do that.

Another dream I was in the back seat of a car that was then driven off a bridge into a body of water.

Some dreams had this recurring theme of owls though. It started with seeing owls outside in my dream. I recall waking up to a discolor'd sky and seeing 3 owls circling continuously over the highest tree.

Then things got more eerie. I saw in what I'm not sure was a dream at all, a human silhouette crossing a brightly lit hallway just outside my door. It didn't occur to me this made no sense until years later. (The silhouette would've been lit up. My room was pretty dark though, so as a child I didn't notice.)

Back to nightmares though, I recall "waking up" twice to some sort of non-humanoid demon figure at the end of my bed and then on top of me. Sleep paralysis was in effect both times and I could only stare. It was kind of like a static image. Nothing really happened. The demonic thing had the general body shape of a giant owl (human size)

Did I mention owls were a recurring theme in this particular house? Well get this. One night, I woke up to this light pain on my toe. I peek under the covers to see what's going on and OH SNAP AN OWL has somehow gotten under my sheets and is nibbling on my toe. Of course, my immediate reaction was to freak the hell out and flee my room in terror. (Cementing that I wasn't dreaming, because I went to my parents and they remember.)

Oh yeah, and I haven't even gotten started on my second experience.

I've had unusual sleep problems all my life, starting with clinical, not self-diagnosed, night terrors as a child. I've had sleep paralysis several times (in varying positions) where I've seen or heard "people" and I frequently experience audio, visual, and sensory hallucinations on the bridge of sleep. Sometimes it's my name or weird faces, but usually it's screaming/shouting, bells, or vibration/spinning/floating.

Nope. Although the scariest thing in my house are silhouettes and they're not paranormal. Your mind is just playing things with you, foo'!

Though, the stories are long. I'll post them later.
Save that for Fan Fiction & Writing, my fair maiden!

Once when I was returning home from my karate classes, it was evening time so it was dark, on the road side I saw a woman dressed in a BLACK saree, it looked normal, but i kept staring at her, she turned her face towards me, she looked DEVILISH, the look was horrifying, I rode my bike as fast as I could & reached home.

    This incident was really weird.

Does not belong there. *Pinches the ear of the implied non-believer* Bad Eldrei!

When I was about 11 I moved up to Massachusetts, and got a brand new house...in what had previously been woods. Couldn't go wrong right? Very wrong. You know those "witches" they used to burn?... Yeah...the woods are their graves.

There's one particularly eerie thing I remember about that house and that was that I never...
saw anything. I heard things. I felt things. But I never saw things.

One of the things I remember most clearly was this awful, hostile feeling of something I'd get in any dark room of the house. It was a terrible feeling, one of being watched with malicious intent. I've never been so terrified of a dark room in my life. It was deeply unnerving to stare down into the darkness and feel that feeling of horror creeping unto me.

I heard things too. There was this particularly creepy incident where I was in the bathroom and began hearing this very odd noise that I can best describe as being an infinitely continuous wolves howl. It just sort of stuck there in the middle and didn't stop. Eerie enough as the noise was, what really creeped me out is that when I went back to my room across the hall, the noise sounded as if it was following me around the outside of the house. It would fade a bit as I moved, and then get louder again as if it was moving as well. I went back and fourth a few times and sure enough...

I started to have nightmares significantly less once I got to this house, ironically.

In addition, there were many nights where my dogs, 3 at the time (2 about halfway through the 4 years I spent there.) , would freak the flip out in the middle of the night, provoking my parents who hated that.

Oh, I don't even know where to begin. I'll start with the shadow I saw in my bedroom one night.

1: It was a few years ago and I had my night light on (because I was paranoid of the dark). I turned the light switch off (for my main light) as I was going to bed, and I saw an exact shadow of a rat creature from Okage: Shadow King, on the ceiling. Turns out that it was only the light hitting my small fan, but I thought it was weird.

2: They say that an out-of-body experience is a mysterious thing and that only 15-20% of people have had one at some point in their lives. I have them all the time. Half of the time I dream, I see myself from somewhere other than my body. What's even weirder is that in some dreams, I dream that I'm an anthro animal. Once, I even dreamed I was a Pikachu, playing a non-existent version of Heroes of Might and Magic 2.

3: I've had a couple of dreams that seemed so realistic, I thought they were for real.

a: When I used to be into the Pokemon trading card game, I dreamed one night that it was the middle of the day and that I found a Dugtrio card on my bed. I woke up and checked to see if it was there, and it wasn't there.

b: I had a dream when I was 7 about waking up in the exact bed I was sleeping in that night. The time seemed to be exactly the same as it was in real life. I dreamed that vampires were popping up out of nowhere, laughing, and then disappearing. I went to my mom's room to tell her what happened and she gave me a realistic answer "Just go to bed." So I did, and I fell asleep IN MY DREAM. I later dreamed about being in Gauntlet Legends.

c: I dreamed that I was in the house I'm in now. Once again, the time of night seemed to exactly match the time in the real world. Being afraid of the dark, I couldn't get out of my bed for a while, but when I did and walked towards my door, a fountain of white pixels, along with a very familiar game sound caused me to jump. I walked down the upstairs hallway and the same thing happened. I walked downstairs and into the living room, all the way up to the fireplace, and the same thing happened. Then an arrow fired at me. I dodged it and walked towards the Utility Room. Then I saw an illusion of a mummy from Heroes of Might and Magic 2 try to attack me exactly the same way as the game did. Then I walked into the study and the pixel fountain and the sound played. Then mom, dad, and my sister returned home in their car. I tried to explain everything to them, but they didn't believe me (as they would say in real life).

d: I once had a dream where I could use magic in my own house. I was in my bedroom when I found out that I could write magic symbols in thin air. Then I could use different powers. I ran downstairs and showed dad by writing random symbols in the air and then lifting his coffee cup with my mind. My dad, mom, and sister were all amazed, and I suddenly felt like Matilda.

There you have it, some of the weird events that took place in my life. And no, I'm not on drugs. :)

Never had one that I remember. I'm sure I've encountered paranormal stuff, but I can't clearly remember anything.

Although there was one time at a school camp over in Canberra. A few of my friends were all standing in front of a window and we were taking pictures before dinner, and we thought nothing of it. After dinner we decided to check out the photos and when we got to the one in front of the window, there was a hand floating above my friends head. There was his head, a gap, and a hand. No arm or anything. We were kind of freaked.
