your favovalrite rival?

The Gary guy, whatever you guys call him... Blue? I don't like the Special manga's naming scheme...

But ultimately I would've preferred a rivalless game.
 
Probably Barry. xD I nicknamed him Stupid and I laugh at it sometimes. xD
 
Im going to have to go with Gary/Blue from red/blue because well back then, he's basically your polar opposite of the game, he chose your diferent starter (typical rival things) yet EVERYTIME you beat him he still runs away laughing with that smirk on his face talking about how bad he'll beat you next time. But i think people forget that Gary/Blue was the ONLY rival to EVER become the league champion.

On your first playthrough(i remember mine vividly) it's like you go to the elite four, thinking once you beat lance the games over. oh but no, there's ONE MORE person you have to face- the champion, and his name, is your rival!! He's even like "I'm the champion....Red(your PC name), do you know what that means?? I'll tell you... It means Im the strongest trainer in the entire WORLD!" Im pretty sure about anyone whose played those games back then would agree they were pretty shocked about that especially since in the first gen with only one region it DID mean that fully, and the tip of the iceberg is you FINALLY wipe that big smirk off of his face once you knock him off his short lived championship and enter your pokes into the hall of fame =)
 
For many, many reasons, Silver, from G/S/C HG/SS.

He hates you, he's mean, he's not a tame rival, and he actually WANTS to beat you, and you can't just go next door and talk to his mother, explore his room, so on, so forth. ((Although I do wish you could call him up!))
 
I like the one from HGSS because he's real kick-ass and evil and stuff but he becomes more "loving" later on. His story is more complete in HGSS, so I like it better. ^^
 
Silver, definately. His backstory at least gives him a reason to be an a-hole. Blue was sort of an a-hole for no reason, but still awesome nonetheless.

Not to mention, Silver confused me as a child. I didn't know what gender he was the first time I played Crystal. Which makes him even more interesting. xD His newer character design, though, is hot. Straight up yo.
 
No doubts, my favorite rival is Green/Blue!

His Pokémon are awesome and he becomes the Pokémon League Champion!

I hate Silver because of his temper...xd
He's just insane not good looking no good pokemon nothing

what backstory was this? i thought he was just a mystery dude.
 
Silver was beast. First Rival with epic backstory, best attitude evar, hated everything, but his character developed and changed into a more loving person, while still managing to be an a-hole. Pretty sure everyone who went silver said the same exact thing I just did. ^_^

He's badass, period.

Jun because he's the most scatterbrained and the best comic relief out of the rivals.
Silver because he's exactly what a rival should be, a total douche. 8D

Silver. Because him and I are alike minus the weak Pokemon thing. :cheeky:
 
I have to say the 3rd Generation. The battle isn't as intense but, It gives me a lot of time to raise my Pokemon's level. :D
